Role

Obesity Action Scotland has established itself as the leading advocacy group on overweight and obesity in Scotland. We are at the forefront of campaigning and awareness raising on this issue. We are looking for a Policy and Evidence Manager to join our team.

Obesity Action Scotland is hosted and supported by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

The Role

The Policy and Evidence Manager within Obesity Action Scotland is responsible for the planning, development, presentation and communication of our evidence-based policy positions. Our work focuses on preventing overweight and obesity through improved diet and food environments.

The postholder will report to the Programme Lead. The Policy and Evidence Manager will oversee the following activities on behalf of the Unit

• Gathering, analysing and interpreting data and evidence

• The development of organisational evidence-based policy positions

• Planning and implementation of in-house evidence gathering projects

• Presentation, dissemination and communication of key messages to external audiences

• Influencing policy makers and stakeholders

• Partnership working
