Ruchazie Family Centre and on site nursery provide support to families with children under the age of 12 years across the Northeast of Glasgow. The family centre offers a holistic package of family support tailored to the needs of families who are directly referred by our Health and Social Care partners.

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to fill the post of Family Support Practitioner, 35 hours on a temporary basis until the June 2024 pending further funding.

Qualification level is SQA level 7 or above in either Children and Young People, Health & Social Services or equivalent.

The Family Support Practitioner would be responsible for supporting children and families within the Northeast of Glasgow who are referred by social work. In line with GIRFEC and The Promise we support families who face various challenges in their day to day lives. A good understanding of the issues affecting families is required especially around impact of trauma, mental health, poverty, addiction, domestic violence and parenting needs. You should be able to demonstrate experience of completing robust initial assessments, reviewing and person centred support planning processes and have a good understanding of child protection procedures.

The Family Support Service operates from 8am to 10pm, 7 days a week over 365 days. The successful candidate will be expected to work weekends on a rota basis normally 1 in 6 and be flexible to the needs of the service. We have excellent access to training and other benefits across the organisation.

The successful candidate must have a full current drivers licence and access to own transport.

Please note that IT skills are required for all Quarriers vacancies.

Where applicable, successful candidates will be required to register with the SSSC within 6 months of start date.
