Role

A new and exciting opportunity to work with us in our Places for Everyone Team (PfE) as our new Partner Relations and Events Officer.

You will build and manage internal and external relationships with key people and work collaboratively with colleagues across Sustrans. This position requires you to develop and deliver training events for Places for Everyone partners, comprising of local authorities, public bodies, businesses, charities and community organisations across Scotland.

A key part of this role is to identify and implement opportunities to showcase the work of PfE and our partners at innovative and collaborative design and knowledge sharing activities, (including newsletters; monthly/bimonthly seminars, podcasts, webinars, workshops; and networking days), taking responsibility for the organisation and delivery of these activities.

Specifically, you will work with the wider PfE team and external partners, to identify suitable potential speakers and trainers, taking responsibility for obtaining their participation in collaborative design and knowledge sharing and training activities to engage with our partners to promote best practice in the active travel sector in Scotland.

You will also be involved with the pre-application support function. You will advise partners on the potential of their applications for funding, liaising with the Grants team where appropriate.

We offer true hybrid working, a flexible mix of working from home and occasional travel to a nearby office hub in Edinburgh or Glasgow.

About you

You must have experience of planning, developing and delivering, high quality online or face to face workshops and/or conferences. In this role you will pull from this experience, liaising and working with speakers, trainers, attendees and colleagues from other departments to organise and deliver events.

Building effective relationships is key to this role, you should be at ease communicating with all levels and people from diverse backgrounds. This will allow you to effectively obtain and analyse feedback, enabling us to identify opportunities to enhance future knowledge sharing events and activities.

We ask you demonstrate your knowledge of effective communications techniques, including social media and virtual events platforms. Using these skills, you will work with the wider Places for Everyone team to promote the benefits and opportunities of knowledge sharing activities to current Places for Everyone partners, to encourage their ongoing involvement.
