Role

The RSE is looking for an experienced Research Awards Officer to join the Research Awards team, working within a team to support the delivery of the RSE research awards to inspire and support Scotland’s most promising talent across the research sector, creating value for the economy and society.

The ideal candidate for this role would be a lead coordinator for all relevant grant calls to ensure complete grant cycles. Including reporting and developing new grant calls where funding has been secured to help diversify and grow the RSE’s research awards portfolio.

As Scotland’s National Academy with over 1,800 Fellows from academia, business and public service who are among the most distinguished in their fields; we engage and connect nationally and internationally to share knowledge and tackle the most pressing challenges of the modern world.

We are looking for a talented individual to:

  • Work closely with the Research Awards team (International Relations and Research Awards Manager, Programme Coordinator, Research Awards Officer) to support the delivery of the RSE research awards;
  • Act as lead coordinator for relevant grant calls to ensure grant cycles are complete, including reporting;
  • Administer applications received (attention to detail is key) and made to the research awards based on two calls for applications annually (Spring and Autumn);
  • Develop new grant calls where funding has been secured to help diversify and grow the RSE’s research awards portfolio;
  • Work proactively with other teams across the RSE as and when required to successfully deliver relevant grant programmes, particularly Communications and Finance.

If you have good experience relevant to research awards or relevant academic degree, excellent project planning skills, experience administering grant calls, and work well as part of a supportive, dynamic team; then we want to hear from you.
