Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations’ Council’s (EVOC) purpose is to support, promote, develop and represent the Third Sector. We play a key role in supporting pioneering, new and innovative ways of working for Third Sector organisations and community groups that work in Edinburgh. EVOC actively promotes, participates in and contributes to partnership working between the voluntary, public, private and community sectors at a local and national level.
Working with a remit across Edinburgh’s four localities, the Senior Development Officer will service and support the work of the city’s voluntary sector forums to develop and to engage with other Community Planning Partners.
You will enable participation, represent community and voluntary sector interests and support sector representatives. Two days per week of the job will have a particular focus developing community and voluntary capacity and participation in the Liberton/Gilmerton area of South East Edinburgh.

Edinburgh and Lothian Trust Fund (ELTF)
Edinburgh and Lothian Trust Fund is a grant making trust whose core aim is the relief of poverty. We provide small grants to individuals in need and grants to small local charities throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians. We also provide larger grants to individuals through the Edinburgh Fire Fund.
The employing organisation will be EVOC although the post is wholly concerned with the administration of Edinburgh and Lothian Trust Fund. EVOC provides the administration and staff support to ELTF.

This role is designed to provide an efficient and effective financial service to EVOC and our sister organisation Edinburgh and Lothian Trust Fund (ELTF). It includes the maintenance of financial records, day-to-day operations and preparation of financial statements for EVOC’s management team and Board. The annual preparation of statutory accounts in partnership with auditors is also a requirement – therefore candidates need to be working towards or have already attained suitable qualifications.

The post-holder will be part of a small team working nationally with the network of Third Sector Interfaces (TSIs) to improve equalities and human rights practice within the third sector. They’ll play a key role in delivering training, guidance and resources for TSIs and other third sector organisations.
The programme is funded by Scottish Government through the Equality and Human Rights Fund. To ensure national coverage different posts will be employed by Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector (GCVS), Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations Council (EVOC) and Highland Third Sector Interface (HTSI).

The Coordinator of Edinburgh’s new Community Climate Forum will develop spaces within which to maximise the contribution of Edinburgh’s citizen’s, community, voluntary and third sector, and citizens, to the planning for and progress towards a net zero city by 2030. The Coordinator will develop and support the role of communities in tackling climate change and enabling the development of community sector projects to tackle climate change, in addition to influencing policy and people’s knowledge and action.
