Role

We’re looking for a passionate, driven person who loves meeting new people and who'll always be on the lookout for where we can make the biggest difference.

Society is changing. In often fragmented communities, the pressures and expectations on young people are increasing. Scouts has never been so important in helping young people prepare for the future, developing the skills they need to succeed in a changing world.

Every week we give thousands of 4-25 year olds across Scotland the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life. They develop a sense of optimism and strong values as well as the leadership and team working skills that are more valuable today than ever.

We make a big difference. You could too.

This is an exciting role that makes a big difference. You'll manage a team of Scouting Operations Officers, making sure local needs are turned into action and national priorities into reality.

You'll work with members of Scouts Scotland Staff and Volunteer team to deliver our strategy, recognising areas of expertise, to agree a planned programme of work and achieve outcomes.

You'll work with Region and District Staff and Volunteers to identify, plan for and develop opportunities to provide Scouting to underrepresented communities.

What it's like working for us

We're a values-driven, award winning flexible employer. We want Scouts Scotland to be the best place to work and offer a wide range of family and carer friendly benefits to support work/life balance. This includes flexible hours, paid leave for volunteering and public duties, and additional leave for long service. We believe in supporting and developing our people, with a focus on wellbeing and continued personal and professional development.
