services Strathcarron Hospice provides for local people at a time when they are needed most? Are you a can-do person, who thrives on running a busy and varied portfolio which raises invaluable funds for a local charity? If you are, then we have a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a full-time Events and Challenges fundraising role.
This exciting role is key to the Hospice fundraising team and you will work together with colleagues to deliver a varied programme of events throughout the year, building awareness and generating valuable income. Ranging from traditional in-person fundraising events to overseas, virtual and third party challenges, this role is full of interesting opportunities to develop as an events professional. You will need to be an excellent communicator, organiser and have the enthusiasm and knowledge to drive forward a key element of the charity’s fundraising strategy.
Duties will include:
• Deliver a programme of in-person and virtual events which deliver on budgets for income and expenditure
• Building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including third-party providers and suppliers
• Supporting the wider fundraising team with gaining sponsorship and event support
• Ensure a high level of stewardship for event attendees/participants, supporters, sponsors and donors
• Take an active role in competitor activity, identifying new event opportunities, market trends and event budgeting
• Be proactive in recording event and supporter data
• A positive approach to overall fundraising, helping contribute to overall income targets
Applicants will need:
• Proven experience of success in running a variety of events
• Ability to manage a varied and constantly evolving range of projects
• A real 'can-do’ attitude, keen to lead by example
• A commitment to the charity’s ethics, values, and team mentality
• Exceptional skills and experience in relationship building and communication
• An understanding of H & S, Risk assessment, and event planning
• A creative and innovative approach to planning and implementing a diverse range of appropriate events
• Knowledge of Digital/Online Fundraising
This post is for 37.5 hours per week, the Event and Challenge Fundraiser is required to be flexible as the days of working each week may vary and will involve occasional evenings and weekends.

What we are looking for....
We are looking for a qualified assessor to support SVQ assessment across the organisation.
We are approved by the SQA to deliver SVQs in Social Services (Children & Young People). To enable assessment in this award you should have a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above along with your assessor award.
Your experience should include working in a relevant care setting, assessment of at least 4 candidates through to completion of their SVQ’s. You must be able to demonstrate that you have experience of planning, preparation, delivery and evaluation of learning activities in a social care setting.
The post is 37.5hrs per week and will require travel across Scotland. Your work base can be flexible, we are able to support a mix of office and home working as required.

About the role
As the Registered Manager, you will be an experienced leader leading a team working with individuals who have a wide range of support needs, providing them with practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives e.g. keeping safe, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, emotional health and wellbeing.
As the Registered Manager you will:

About You
You will have passion and drive to take forward a well-established Service and Team. Be passionate; and committed to the overall aims and objectives of the service and have the belief that people can live fulfilling lives with the right support in place.
You should also have:
- Experience of working with vulnerable people and leading a service delivery team, including managing the provision of a safe operating environment in a relevant context.
- The ability to negotiate with a wide range of internal and external partners and build positive relationships including local authorities and housing associations.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise your own time and workload to meet a number of different and competing tasks in sometimes pressurised environment.
- Social Service and Health Care at level 9 (SCQF) or other speciality/qualification recognised by the SSSC for registration purposes as well as a relevant management qualification.

About the role
Do you live in Edinburgh or the surrounding area?
As a senior community fundraiser, you’ll be an important part of the team building Breast Cancer Now’s presence in Scotland, with a particular focus on Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.
We’re looking for someone who is an experienced relationship builder, someone who can find and develop new supporters. You’ll need excellent local knowledge, and the enthusiasm to develop a brand-new fundraising region.
The successful candidate will also be part of the team working on our large-scale project supporting and growing Asda Tickled Pink, our award-winning partnership with Asda and CoppaFeel! which has already raised over £100 million.
You’ll work directly with passionate colleagues across Asda stores in your region driving new fundraising initiatives, inspiring communities and celebrating incredible successes.
No 2 days will look the same as you travel, connect and engage supporters to help us grow income to deliver our mission.
The role is initially offered as an 18-month contract with the potential to become permanent.
About you
You’re confident in approaching new contacts and are experienced in developing new relationships from scratch. This may currently be in a customer service, account management or stewardship role.
You’re experienced in managing and building new and established relationships with a focus on retention and income growth.
You’re enthusiastic, proactive, organised and unafraid to test and try new ideas.
You’re required to be involved being out and about in the community that you’re building, so you must be able to work independently outside of the office in varying locations and enjoy being busy.
Previous experience working in a charity is not required.

Primary location of role
This is a remote role, and the candidate will need to be based in the Edinburgh area with unlimited access to their own car. Regular travel will be required to meet supporters and visit Asda stores in your region, as well as occasional travel to our London, Sheffield or Glasgow office.
