The role
You will be responsible for the organisation and delivery of our face-to-face and online services for people with primary breast cancer, including coordinating service events, recruiting, training, and working with moving forward facilitators and moving forward volunteers.
A key part of the role involves developing and maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals and other external stakeholders to promote our services and increase reach and uptake in the north and east of Scotland (Highlands, Western Isles, Orkney, Shetland, Grampian, Tayside and Fife).
About you
Do you thrive on challenge? Can you demonstrate a passion for supporting people with breast cancer?
You must have experience of developing and delivering information, health or other support services and have knowledge of UK healthcare systems. Your excellent verbal and written communication skills help you manage successful relationships with a range of different stakeholders, often remotely. You are organised and have excellent time management skills. You use your initiative and prioritise your workload.
Working as part of a busy established team across different geographical sites can be challenging. You will need to be a supportive and resilient colleague, potentially supporting services outside of your team’s geographical location.
Flexibility to travel and work outside normal office hours, with occasional overnight stays is required.

Primary location of role and hybrid working
This role involves travel across Scotland. It can either be home based or office based at our Glasgow office if within reasonable commuting distance.
In line with our hybrid working model, if based at our Glasgow office, you will be required to attend the office for a minimum of 2 days per week, subject to the roles travel requirements.

The role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a lively, dynamic and driven fundraising Events Team. Over the last decade, Breast Cancer Now has built up a strong events function, with community and events currently accounting for nearly a quarter of the charity’s overall voluntary income.
We are now looking for an Events Officer to play a key role within the team, supporting on the delivery of our flagship fundraising challenges, the Pink Ribbon Walks (PRWs) whilst playing a key part in the team to drive Breast Cancer Now forward as the go-to charity for challenge events.
About you
We’re looking for someone with a real drive and a passion for charity events fundraising.
You will be supporting the delivery of Breast Cancer Now’s flagship events series The Pink Ribbon Walks, including delivering the marketing strategy to meet target participant numbers and providing logistical support to the Pink Ribbon Walk Events Team.

Policy and public affairs lead, Scotland

This is an exciting opportunity to work within our policy, evidence and influencing team to achieve change for people with breast cancer in Scotland.
You’ll play a key role leading the development and delivery of our policy and public affairs work in Scotland. You’ll develop evidence-based policy positions, and design and deliver public affairs and policy influencing plans in line with our strategic aims.
You’ll also support the roll out of campaigning activity and act as a key spokesperson for the charity in Scotland, representing us in the media as well as with campaigners and senior stakeholders.
About you
You’ll have experience of working in relevant policy or public affairs roles developing policy positions and materials, and a proven ability to build strong external contacts.
Along with strong analytical and communication skills, you’ll have the ability to work well independently while managing a varied workload, and the capability to lead projects and work with teams across the UK.
You’ll have a good understanding of the current health policy landscape in Scotland or the UK as well as knowledge of Scottish or UK parliamentary processes and legislative systems.

The role
Are you an experienced and motivated manager looking for a new challenge?
We are looking for someone to take the lead in progressing our new personalised referral service, Here for You, to the next level. Here for You introduces people diagnosed with breast cancer to our support services and our aim is to sign up healthcare teams across the UK to take up our offer for their patients.
Building on progress to date, you will be responsible for all operational delivery, including identifying areas for improvement in our internal processes, as well as managing the development of our expansion plans. You will proactively engage with Cancer Alliances and NHS hospital trusts, promote the service to internal and external stakeholders, implement robust evaluation and review of the service and ensure a sustainable quality service fit for the future.
This role is offered on a fixed-term contract until July 2024.
About you
You must have excellent project management skills and experience, with the ability to produce and implement a clear and practical roadmap for the delivery and expansion of the Here for You service. You will be a self-starter, methodical, with strong attention to detail, and have excellent time management skills.
A confident and persuasive communicator, you will bring demonstrable experience of working collaboratively with a range of colleagues and confident in reporting to stakeholders at all levels. You will work closely with the Head of Personalised and Specialist Support Services as project lead, identifying opportunities for internal improvement and external expansion and implementing agreed strategies.
You will also work closely with the managers of our delivery teams and colleagues across Breast Cancer Now to ensure their ongoing involvement and commitment to the success of Here for You.
