Role
Glasgow’s Golden Generation (GGG) has been supporting older adults across Glasgow since 1948. The charity was set up initially to alleviate loneliness and isolation within older people. While these services still exist today, GGG provides so much more in modern times including: 3 Day Care Centres, Befriending Services, Weekly Clubs, Careline, Digital Coaching and Welfare Services.
Glasgow’s Golden Generation (GGG) is a long-established charity with an approximate turnover of £1M and 34 staff (part time and full time). An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Finance and Operations Director; perhaps you are looking for your first Directorate opportunity, or you may already be established at this level. Either way we would love to hear from you. GGG is open to flexible working conditions and offers a pension and a competitive salary for this role. This is an amazing opportunity as the charity embarks on a positive period of change; the postholder will be allowed flexibility to shape and further progress the Finance and HR function. The role is very well supported by the Treasurer of the Board, CEO, Law at Work, McDonach IT Consultancy and Departmental Managers. There is a PT Bookkeeper, and scope to allow another PT post to assist within HR, Finance and Policy/Compliance if desired.

The Programme Lead for Scotland will be an entrepreneurial, driven and creative leader responsible for the development and delivery of key national programmes, ensuring that lived experience is at the heart. Our psychology team within the organisation is continuing to grow, demonstrating their value and importance to our ever evolving services and support. We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to lead on this work in our West of Scotland teams and take an active leadership role within the organisation. The key focus of this role will be to support the organisation to continue to implement psychologically informed environment principles and trauma informed care, creating and maintaining psychological safety for all. This work will be carried out under the supervision of a Prinicipal Clinical Psychologist external to Simon Community Scotland. The job plan will be agreed with the Director of Services, working independently within the framework, policies and procedures of the organisation. The job plan will cover both direct and indirect work, with more focus on indirect, it is an opportunity to use the range of skills of a Clinical Psychologist; leadership, formulation, consultation, supervision, research and service development. The job will include working across different services in the West of Scotland, including supported accommodation, community support hubs and outreach. This job description will be subject to review as the psychology team, as well as the organisational need
develops and the postholder will be a key stakeholder in that review. Your new opportunity
We are currently recruiting a Director of Finance & Corporate Services to join our well-established Executive Team. As a key member of the Executive Team, you will direct Quarriers’ finance, IT and property services. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our £60m budget, including financial reporting and planning, while liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
A key part of the role will include reporting to the Board of Trustees and Chief Executive, offering strategic advice and solutions on all finance and corporate services matters, and to support the Board in the preparation of budgets and financial reports.
This is a full-time permanent role working 35 hours per week in line with our agile working policy, which blends home-working with office time and service visits.
What you will need to bring to the role
- CCAB Qualified Accountant
- Extensive knowledge and experience at a senior level in a complex organisation
- Proven experience of contract negotiation and commercial focus
- Excellent problem solver who is driven by positive outcomes
- Chartered Accountant status or post-graduate management qualification is desirable
- Excellent IT and analytical skills
- Driving licence is essential
