We are looking for an exceptional PR and Policy Officer to join our brilliant Strategic Marketing and Digital team to help drive and shape the College’s positioning and profile.
You will have regular contact with some of the most senior members of our College, including our President, Honorary Secretary, and other senior clinicians and staff to ensure consistency of messaging, efficiency of responses to policy and media work, and accurate reporting.
The Role
Reporting to the Public Affairs Manager, you will be responsible for:
- The creation, implementation and delivery of research, reports, and communications that support the delivery of the College’s strategic positioning and profile.
- Acting as media liaison to ensure successful positioning of articles and features on print and broadcast media.
- Effectively communicating and engaging with external stakeholders including government, media, and intercollegiate partners.
- Developing and establishing good working relationships with policy makers, journalists and influencers.
- Contributing to the College’s policy on key priorities and supporting the College’s response to Government and professional body consultations.

About You
Essential:
- Degree qualified and at least 1-2 years’ experience in a public affairs, policy and/or communications role.
- Demonstrable experience of researching and analysing data to support the development of policy.
- Demonstrable experience of report writing.
- Experienced in writing and distribution of media statements
- Experience of parliament and politics, and a good understanding of health policy is desirable.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Demonstrable experience of planning, prioritising and managing multiple activities with high levels of attention to detail, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Strong interpersonal skills in order to influence and interact effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent IT skills including the use of databases and Microsoft Office.

SFHA is looking for a External Affairs Co-ordinator to support our engagement with politicians and Parliaments, with a key focus on the run-up to the 2026 Holyrood election and building relationships with new MSPs afterwards.
This role involves engaging with the political landscape to support SFHA’s election campaigns and promote the value of social housing across Scotland.
You will work to influence the political parties in the run-up to the election, monitor parliamentary and political developments, draft briefings to inform debates, and help newly elected MSPs understand the importance of social housing.

Working closely with the Chief Executive, Board and Executive Team, you will help shape organisational strategy, strengthen our influence, and ensure SFHA remains a leading voice in Scotland’s political and policy landscape.
You will lead a talented multi-disciplinary team, driving innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement across all external-facing work. From policy development and thought leadership to campaigns, media engagement and research, you will ensure SFHA delivers high-impact work that enhances our reputation and reinforces our relevance to members.

Sunny Cycles is a community-focused cycling organisation which enables people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to enjoy the mental and physical benefits of cycling and cycling activities. Founded in 2022, we support mental health, social inclusion, and accessibility by providing led rides, cycling lessons, adaptive cycling for disabled people, and creating welcoming spaces for refugees and New Scots. We operate a community hub at Glasgow Green, and Victoria Park offering free or low-cost cycling sessions for individuals facing financial hardship, social isolation, or discrimination. We provide adapted bikes for those who cannot ride standard 2 wheelers and work with individuals and groups within the community to enable people to experience the mental and physical benefits of cycling.
Sunny Cycles operates as a registered charity and a social enterprise. As we grow, we are looking for a Development & Enterprise Officer who can strengthen our income generation pathways and support the long-term sustainability of our work, including our expanding work with disability and care-home cycling programmes.
Role Purpose
The Development & Enterprise Officer will lead on developing and delivering income-generating opportunities that support Sunny Cycles’ mission. This includes building partnerships, developing commercial activities, strengthening our social enterprise offer, managing budgets and ensuring financial sustainability so we can move away from grant funding.
The role is ideal for someone who is proactive, entrepreneurial, and passionate about inclusive cycling and community wellbeing.
