What you’ll do
We have an exciting new opportunity for a FAREPlay Stepford Manager to join our growing team. Reporting to the Chief
Executive Officer, you will drive and lead the growth and development of FAREPlay Stepford to ensure it is an
ongoing source of revenue for the charity, along with providing work opportunities for the local community. As
part of the role, you will promote other FARE Scotland services and engage the community in play, physical
exercise, and sport, enabling community integration.
As part of your role, your main responsibilities will include:
- Working proactively with the CEO to develop strategies and identify new opportunities for the growth of FAREPlay
Stepford.
- Marketing and promoting FAREPlay Stepford and taking responsibility for managing and/or
hosting seasonal and other events.
- Monitoring, reviewing, and managing the turnover and operating result
of the social enterprises to ensure targets are achieved.
- Working with the Finance team to review
performance and prepare annual budgets and forecasts.
- Ensuring all monies are handled are accounted for
and safely managed, developing further controls as required, in accordance with FARE Scotland’s policies and
procedures.
- Ensuring adherence to appropriate health and safety procedures, making sure that all
mandatory requirements are met and full compliance to Environmental Health regulations.
- Responsibility
for all aspects of the day-to-day management of FAREPlay Stepford, ensuring a safe and effective environment for
all staff, volunteers, customers, and those on work placements.
- Maintaining oversight of the weekly
staffing and volunteer rotas in liaison with the local teams to ensure sufficient staff and volunteers are
available to cover the opening requirements.
- Maintaining FARE Scotland’s position in the local community
and delivering quality customer service.
About you
The successful candidate for this role will have:
- A proven track record of attracting new funding to sustain a service and/or project and experience of writing
and monitoring funding applications.
- Organised and systematic approach to monitoring and
reporting.
- Excellent computer skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
packages.
- Ability to engage with and motivate individuals.
- Excellent communication and
presentation skills.
- Ability to work with people at all levels, both internally and
externally.
- Experience of engaging with children, young people, and adults from excluded
backgrounds.
- Ability to challenge, in a constructive manner, negative attitudes.
- Good knowledge
of statutory organisations and the voluntary sector.
- Ability to share learning and develop practice
through feedback.
- Experience of providing in-work support.
- The drive and initiative to work
independently.
- Recruitment and selection experience.
- Full driving licence.
- Educated to a
degree level, or equivalent experience of, sports facilities management.
