We have an opportunity to work within Hillcrest Futures supporting adults with a variety of additional support needs such as mental health issues, learning disability, physical disabilities, autism, drug and alcohol issues and dementia.

The Role

As a support worker you will:

  • Be helping people with all aspects of daily life ,including personal care (which may include intimate personal care), toileting, bathing, showering, dressing and assistance with mobility.
  • Support with all aspects of medication.
  • Support with cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and shopping.
  • Some Individuals need support with their preferred method of communication along with emotional, behavioural and personal safety support.
  • Emotional support and support with recovery process
  • Promotion of positive mental health and developing constructive coping strategies
  • Accessing community based resources and planning for leisure so that life is interesting and enjoyable and exploring opportunities for meaningful employment.

You Will

  • Be cheerful, caring and reliable.
  • Smile a lot, be able to chat about a wide range of topics and be able to make a positive difference to someone’s day.
  • Have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Work as a part of a team and be required to carry out sleepover and waking night shifts.
  • Undertake a key working role that includes administrative tasks and IT skills.
  • Be able to show transferrable skills relating to care.
  • Hold an SVQ2 in Health and Social Care, or have the willingness undertake study to achieve this.

You will be required to obtain registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post.
