We are seeking an experienced and motivational Service Manager to lead our Mental Health Services in Angus. This key
role will oversee two dedicated teams; The Beacon Community Wellbeing Centre and Angus Mental Health Peer
Support Service (see service descriptors for more details).
The staff teams are made up of:
- Senior Support Workers – Qualified to SVQ Level 3 and above
- Project Workers – Qualified to SVQ Level
2
- Peer Workers – Individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges
You will be responsible for the day to day operations and staff management of the services, ensuring high-quality
support for individuals experiencing mental health difficulties. You will be part of a management team, working
with commissioners and other partners to drive the strategic direction of both services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and strategic oversight of the service
- Manage and support staff teams, ensuring
professional development and wellbeing
- Ensure compliance with health and safety and all legal and
regulatory requirements
- Represent the organisation at conferences, forums, and stakeholder
events
- Deliver internal and external training to promote best practice
- Monitor service
performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Energetic, driven and passionate about mental health
- Skilled in prioritising competing demands and
managing complex workloads
- Experienced in staff management, service delivery and strategic
planning
- Confident in public speaking and stakeholder engagement
- Committed to inclusive,
trauma-informed, and recovery-focused practice
- SVQ Level 4 or equivalent in Health & Social Care,
Management or related field or willing to work towards this
- Proven experience in managing mental health
or social care services
- Strong understanding of legislation and best practice in mental health
support
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
- Experience working with
peer-led or lived experience teams
- Training delivery or public speaking experience
- Knowledge of
the Angus area and local mental health landscape
