Role

Why apply for this role?

Children’s Hearings Scotland (CHS) is undergoing an exciting period of reform designed to make a step change in improving the outcomes for infants, children and young people who need us most. As the Resource Allocation Administrator, you will support a key function within CHS which is the smooth running of Hearings.

Children’s Hearings tribunal panel members play a vital role in Scotland’s society. They listen and make legal decisions with and for infants, children and young people. They ensure that the young person is at the heart of every decision taken – because every decision, no matter how big or small, has an impact.

As Resource Allocation Administrator, with your team, you will play a critical role in enabling these decisions to be made through ensuring CHS Tribunal Panel Members are allocated appropriately to attend hearings throughout Scotland.

See bottom of the advert for instructions on how to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating timely, accurate and sustainable resource management allocations of Tribunal Members to Hearings according to area requirements
  • Ensuring that any issues arising around the effective population of Hearings with the right balance of membership from the Tribunal Member community are effectively resolved or highlighted to management in time for them to be resolved;
  • Ensuring accurate and consistent data is being recorded via the CHS rota system;
  • Updating data records as required to ensure the system delivers accurate and timely information to enable accurate reporting;
  • Proactively communicating with Panel Members via email, telephone and other platforms, responding promptly to queries;
  • Taking action as required and in accordance with agreed protocols when cover is needed at short notice – e.g. to cover sickness absence;
  • Monitoring all of the Resource Allocation Team e-mail accounts taking action as necessary;
  • Escalating issues and risks to the Resource Allocation Team Leader.
