About the Role

SAMH provides supported accommodation services in Fife. Providing access to 24Hour support 7 days a week .The services is run across two sites in Fife (Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy), and is registered as Care at Home with Housing support. We also provide a bespoke outreach Service.

You will be required to work at both locations and provide outreach support. You should be able to provide direct support to individuals in homes and communities to improve their mental health and wellbeing. Support is focused on enabling people to build on their existing skills or develop new skills, increase their self-esteem and confidence, which in turn will encourage involvement and promote independence. This is achieved by using interpersonal and motivational skills to help an individual explore options, the possible outcomes/ consequences and make an informed choice based on this.

What we are looking for

You will be able to demonstrate good communication skills and a mature attitude together with adaptability and enthusiasm. Knowledge and experience in supporting people with mental health problems is desirable but not essential as is experience working with people who have had long term hospital admissions. This role involves shift working, including evening’s weekends and sleepovers and participating in an on Call Rota.

About the role

We seek people to support the existing board and staff team in evolving the charity further. Having recently reviewed the skillset of the existing board, we especially welcome people with experience of Digital, IT systems and Finance.

Board meetings are held online quarterly lasting 2.5hs/meeting and some additional time is required outside meeting times to read board papers, where invited, to attend in-person events or training, or where there is voluntary participation in additional board sub group activities. Trustees need not be local and remote trustees are welcome given the online meeting format.

Trustee appointments are for a three year period, renewable thereafter in accordance with our Memorandum and Articles of Association.

We seek applicants who understand the community we serve and we value the diversity of opinion, thought and experience new board members can bring. About you

This role may appeal to those wishing to volunteer as a trustee for the first time, or to an experienced trustee seeking a new challenge. A full induction will be provided to include training in trauma and safeguarding.

It is important that potential candidates share our values of being compassionate and collaborative, effective and knowledgeable in supporting those affected by childhood sexual trauma and support the charity’s vision to influence and inform within the sector.

This post is unremunerated and PVG is required as this is considered a regulated role. In addition, we must comply with the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and Charities (Regulation and Administration) (Scotland) Act 2023. Within section 69 of the 2005 Act amended by the 2023 Act, there is specific criteria which disqualifies an individual from acting as a charity trustee. Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland is looking for an experienced and motivated Advice Line Clinical Lead Practitioner to provide strong leadership for our Clinical Advice Line Team, supporting people affected by chest, heart, stroke, Long Covid conditions and Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA).

This is an exciting opportunity for a registered healthcare professional to combine clinical leadership, people management and service development, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care while driving performance,

continuous improvement and delivery of organisational priorities.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Service Delivery (Triage, Clinical & Support Line Operations), you will lead a team of clinical practitioners delivering telephone and video-based clinical case management and support services.

You will be responsible for clinical governance, service quality, workforce performance and achievement of service KPIs.

You will use performance data, service user feedback and quality outcomes to drive improvement and support strategic service development. The role will also provide leadership and operational support to the Stroke Nurse Team in the

absence of the Stroke Nurse Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop and support the Clinical Advice Line Team.
  • Deliver agreed KPIs, quality standards and service outcomes.
  • Monitor performance, caseloads and service capacity.
  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision and coaching.
  • Lead quality assurance, audit and continuous improvement activity.
  • Ensure effective risk management, safeguarding and clinical governance.
  • Support recruitment, performance management and workforce planning.
  • Contribute to organisational strategy and service development.
  • Build effective relationships with NHS and third-sector partners.
  • Support the Stroke Nurse Team during periods of leadership absence

About You:

Applicants must be resident in the UK, have the legal right to work in the UK, and possess a good understanding of Scotland's health and social care landscape. Unfortunately, Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland is unable to provide visa sponsorship.

Essential:

  • UK-recognised first-level Nursing qualification with current NMC registration, or UK-recognised Allied Health Professional qualification with current HCPC registration.
  • Significant post-registration clinical experience.
  • Proven experience leading and managing clinical teams.
  • Experience delivering services against KPIs, quality standards and organisational objectives.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding and quality improvement.
  • Experience using performance data to inform decision-making and service improvement.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a home-based environment.

Desirable:

Our footcare clinics are delivered by volunteers. The Co-ordinator role includes organising regular training including with the NHS podiatry team, mentoring and supporting volunteers, promoting good communication and holding regular volunteer team meetings.

The post is initially funded by Clackmannanshire and Stirling Health and Social Care Partnership for up to 2 years, however, the aim of the socially enterprising project is that it will become self-sustaining through the income raised by the service.

Role Purpose

The Street Soccer Women’s programme (previously Street45) provides a safe, supportive space where socially disadvantaged women and girls can be active, connect and build confidence while engaging in football related activity and personal development opportunities.

The Women’s Programme Co-Ordinator will be responsible for developing the Women’s Programme across Scotland in areas including Ayrshire, Glasgow, the Central Belt and Fife . Responsible for sourcing and managing suitable venues for sessions to take place. They will recruit and work with partners to ensure players get the right level of support across a variety of issues. They will grow the number of players attending sessions by promoting these across the community in a variety of ways.

An enthusiastic person, the Women’s Programme Co-Ordinator will be able to build relationships with a series of communities where sessions take place. They will also work with the Fundraising Team to establish local opportunities for sponsorship and other support.

The Women’s Programme Co-Ordinator will also be involved in our Team Scotland Women’s activity including the annual Homeless World Cup Tournament.
