The Income Generation Lead plays a pivotal role within Healthy n Happy (HnH), leading the development, growth and sustainability of the organisation’s income streams and enterprise activities. The role requires a proactive and creative thinker who can build and maintain strong relationships across multiple sectors, including private, public and voluntary organisations. The Income Generation Lead will represent HnH externally, promoting its services, developing partnerships and identifying opportunities for collaboration, sponsorship and growth. The role will also be key in writing and developing existing and new funding opportunities through grant writing and development.

The Income Generation Lead will lead on the development and expansion of key income streams, including enterprise activity, partnerships, sponsorship, venue hire, funding and membership models. This includes exploring new opportunities, piloting innovative initiatives and maximising commercial potential across existing services.

Working collaboratively across all teams, including marketing, fundraising and CamGlen Radio, the Income Generation Lead will ensure a coordinated and organisation-wide approach to income generation. The role will also involve supporting fundraising activity, developing relationships with key supporters and contributing to overall financial resilience.

Specifically the post holder will manage the small trust portfolio, support with reporting on KPIs and impact, create engaging cases for support, and support the Manager with various tasks, freeing them up to develop larger, strategic bids.

This role would suit someone who has experience of trusts and grants, either at an officer or fundraiser level, who can demonstrate experience of developing a trust and grants pipeline, creating compelling applications and directly delivering income success.

Job purpose

The Member Engagement Officer is responsible for increasing membership of the Network, encouraging member engagement with network activities and identifying and addressing individual member’s support needs through awareness raising activities, outreach and signposting.

The post holder is required to work with colleagues and partners to design and deliver suitable events and activities reflecting member needs and to develop new member benefits.

We currently have vacancies for Non-Executive Board members on both the main board as well as the group subsidiary board, at a very exciting time for Ark. We are about to launch a stakeholder engagement exercise across the business to consult on our new corporate strategy as well as celebrate our 50th anniversary. As a new Board Member, you will play a key part in developing and enabling the delivery of the strategy for the next 5-10 years and improving the governance framework to effectively monitor performance. This will be clearly focussed upon delivery of high-quality Housing and Care & Support services.

Ark Group Board

We are seeking 2-3 recruits to fill non-exec positions on Ark’s parent Board: Ark Housing Association.

This Board meets 6-7 times per year in a hybrid approach and will require some attendance face to face. We welcome applications from people with experience in Care & Support, Housing/Asset, Finance or Digital Improvement, and understanding of governance in an RSL would be an advantage, however not essential.

Ark Subsidiary Board

We are seeking to strengthen our governance by appointing non-executive directors to our Subsidiary Board and separate from the Ark Group Board to ensure independence. This Board is completely independent from the parent Board. Your role will be to serve both subsidiary companies with meetings being held consecutively, 4 times per year. This board meets on a remote basis and will be the perfect opportunity for people seeking their first Board role, with the opportunity for exposure to two very different businesses; one a commercial/private company and one a registered Charity. We will provide you with a full induction and an opportunity to be mentored by an experienced Board member and we do not expect you to have any previous board experience. Overall, we are looking for dynamic, forward-thinking and enthusiastic people from a variety of backgrounds to contribute to Ark’s emerging future.

Reserves Manager – West (North Lanarkshire)

The role provides operational leadership across a defined operational area of the Trust’s reserves, ensuring land management, people management and community engagement to deliver strong conservation outcomes. The post oversees planning, delivery and quality assurance of reserve and project work, ensuring compliance with policies, health and safety and regulatory requirements. The role involves leading and developing the local team, managing budgets, mitigating risks and utilising ecological data to inform evidenced based decision making to support long-term site and project development. Through this combination of leadership and operational oversight, the role helps safeguard the Trust’s reserves and advance its conservation mission.

Main objectives:

Land management and project delivery

Manage wildlife reserve operations across the West Reserves Management Area, including conservation and land management and monitoring of 3,700 hectares across ten wildlife reserves with a range of habitats, including blanket bog, heaths, fens, freshwater lochs, woodlands within the temperate rainforest zone, and a range of montane vegetation communities.

Representation and stakeholder engagement

Build and maintain positive relationships with landowners, volunteers, contractors, communities and interested parties. Represent the Trust professionally at local, regional and national events and meetings, and proactively manage day‑to‑day issues with neighbours and partners.

People management and teamwork

Line manage and develop the operational area team, leading recruitment, induction and performance. Foster a positive organisational culture, support collaboration across teams, and act as the key local contact for members and volunteers. Help recruit, train and retain volunteers, and provide local operational insight to support fundraising, communications and policy work.

Information and operational management

Ensure that data management, documentation and reporting adhere to legal and regulatory requirements and comply with internal policies and procedures. Maintain and review work programmes, risk assessments, project risk registers, reserve and project budgets and promote a strong safety culture within the operational team and with contractors and volunteers.

The successful candidate will ideally:

  • HND in environmental conservation or similar (essential)
  • Degree / post graduate qualification in environmental conservation, countryside management or similar (desirable)
  • Minimum three years in similar role – to include experience of management planning and coordinating practical conservation work (essential)
  • Health and Safety legislation/procedures relating to outdoor working (essential)
  • Evidence-based decision making (essential)
  • Demonstrable experience of securing permissions and consents required for conservation and land management activities.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing practical constraints while implementing conservation and land management activities, including ecological and archaeological mitigation measures.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Construction, Design and Management Regulations in context of conservation projects (essential)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Environmental Authorisations (Scotland) Regulations (EASR)
  • Experience of delivering upland conservation projects including peatland restoration, non-native conifer plantation felling, extraction and restoration, and /or native woodland planting and regeneration.
  • Demonstrable experience of working within urban and rural areas of Scotland with specific reference to the challenges associated with managing land for wildlife conservation in these areas.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of upland deer management and conservation grazing for nature conservation purposes.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of conservation and land management to mitigate against wildfire risk.
  • Demonstrable experience of communicating the importance of maintaining and expanding healthy habitats for wildlife and people.

About the Role

On appointment, the postholder will lead Out2Play, using the play rangers model of delivery to enable children to play out in greenspaces close to their homes.

The postholder will also staff other sessions run by Play Midlothian. We champion adventurous, self-directed play, with a focus on loose parts, and use varied community settings to create rich play opportunities. A high proportion of sessions take place outdoors, all year round.

Travel and transportation of play resources to multiple sites across Midlothian is required for successful delivery of our services. Most sessions take place after school hours and at weekends, with some during the school day, so flexibility is required, though we do aim to share out weekend working on a rota pattern so that everyone gets predictable weekends off.

This role would suit someone with playwork, youth work or family support experience who is ready to step into frontline management — or an existing manager looking for a values-led, varied, community-based role.
