Spinal Injuries Scotland is looking for a Peer Support Advisor to join our team based in the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit, Glasgow, to support patients, their families, and friends to help come to terms with a spinal cord injury.
You will build and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, NHS staff and partner organisations, delivering person-centred peer support and provide insight into the process of recovery through sharing of experience in a positive way.
This will be a permanent appointment to a varied role where you will be a key member of a small team supported by a backroom office of professionals. You will be the face of Spinal Injuries Scotland, helping people at a time of real need, with scope to make a lasting positive difference to their lives.

This is a leadership role with responsibility for managing and developing a small team that supports disabled people and their families to understand and access Self-directed Support (SDS).
Based mainly in Glasgow and working across three local authority areas, the postholder will combine staff leadership with hands-on work in the community, providing information, advice and short-term support, and leading outreach activities that raise awareness of SDS.
The role involves building strong relationships with disabled people, carers, local authorities and third sector partners, influencing good practice and supporting co-production.
This is a people-focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, is confident representing a service in community and professional settings, and is motivated by making a meaningful difference in their local community.

About Aberlour Family Support Service Glasgow…
Our Aberlour Family Support Service, based in Glasgow will work in partnership with children and young people and their families to develop relationship-based, strengths-focused whole family support.
What we are looking for....
As a Family Support Worker you will develop a person-centred working relationship with your families, based on a model of ‘VOICE, VALIDATION and HOPE’. Working directly with families to build on their existing strengths and interests, you will help children and families build skills and confidence and strengthen community connections. Our ambition is to help children, young people and families feel safe, confident, capable, and included, offering support when it is needed, including evenings and weekends. We believe in working alongside families, empowering them to lead positive change in their own lives in a variety of settings including family homes, schools, and within the community.
We are looking for candidates who are experienced in working alongside vulnerable families to assess strengths and needs as well as plan, deliver and evaluate interventions and strategies which enable families to thrive. You will have experience of child and adult protection issues and of working with children, young people and parents/carers affected by domestic abuse, mental health and/or substance misuse. You must share our vision that collaborative working and relationship based early intervention is the best option for children and families who are feeling overwhelmed or excluded.
Ideally you will hold a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above, together with relevant experience of working directly with children or young people and their families.
Not afraid to test new ways of working, you will bring a fresh, caring, and collaborative approach which recognises strengths and responds empathically to the needs of children, young people, and their families – this will include early mornings, evenings, and weekend work.
This role is offered on a fixed term basis until March 2027.

As Community Engagement Officer (Scotland), you will help grow Dogs for Good’s impact across the central belt, building strong relationships with communities, partners and volunteers. You’re experienced in working with people with disabilities and additional needs, and you understand how to tailor Animal Assisted Interventions and Activities to meet clear, person-centred goals while safeguarding the wellbeing of everyone involved – including the dog. You’re organised and reflective, comfortable planning, delivering and evaluating sessions, and you value evidence, learning and continuous improvement. You enjoy working independently but are also a strong team player, able to collaborate with health and social care professionals, colleagues and volunteers. Supporting, training and encouraging volunteers is something you do with care and clarity, helping them feel confident, valued and able to deliver to a high standard. You’re open to new ideas, adaptable in your approach and willing to think creatively to help Dogs for Good’s services grow and evolve.
