The Deputy Director of Music & Curriculum is a new role, reflecting the desire to support effective learning and teaching across the organisation, in line with our organisational strategy. You will work closely with the Director of Music & Curriculum to support and strengthen the musical delivery of our Big Noise programmes, including key support in quality assurance, the planning & execution of training & induction, cross-centre musical collaborations, and ensuring the principles of inclusive practice are embedded in our work. As part of the Leadership Team, you will also support the smooth running of the organisation and delivery on strategic outcomes.
You will bring extensive experience of large group/whole-class musicianship and instrumental instruction with a proven track record of success, along with experience of teaching using a Kodaly-inspired approach and applying it to instrumental pedagogy. You will also have experience of providing constructive feedback and training to musicians/teachers.

You will be confident navigating tendering processes, analysing budgets and influencing local and national policy to improve outcomes for vulnerable children, young people and families. You will confidently lead Policy into practice, ensuring the principles of The Promise, UNCRC and GIRFEC are embedded across our services.

This is a 50/50 split job share arrangement, working 18.75 hours over 2.5 consecutive days per week. Preferred working days are Wednesday half day pm to Friday pm, with a structured handover built into the pattern to ensure continuity and shared leadership.

The successful applicant will manage the effective delivery of our current Early Learning and Childcare, Community Childminding and National services Scotland wide, in addition to identifying opportunities for further growth in line with our strategy. The Kilmadock Development Trust (KDT) has secured funding for a Project Officer 2 years on a part-time basis for two days a week/ 14 hours a week.
We are looking for someone with relevant qualifications and experience to work with the KDT, involving engagement with the local Community Council, the Community, external stakeholders and funders on community projects. Initially this will involve completing some projects that have been started and are at various stages. Also identifying funding streams to allow major community projects to progress. The suitable candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication, excellent interpersonal, presentation and IT skills. They will be proactive, able to work on their own initiative, provide reports and plans working strategically. Salary £14,560 per annum, position will be based from the Centre, but homeworking will be considered as appropriate. The position requires someone educated to degree level and/or previous experience in these areas.
