We are affiliated to Relationship Scotland, who support a national network of 21 local service providers for individuals, couples and families experiencing relationship breakdown. Job Information
The Family Mediation West Child Contact Centre Service experiences high demand in the West of Scotland. With children’s needs being at the heart of our service delivery, we seek to recruit a manager with a proven record within a child centred environment to manage all aspects within our centres. Contact Centres throughout Scotland will become regulated via the Care Inspectorate which offers an exciting opportunity for a manager to support planning to meet the needs of the regulation. This post is part of a 4-person Senior Management Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our West Central Services to positively impact on the lives of children, young people and their families, building empowering relationships to address the various, often complex challenges they face. These are innovative services, working alongside children and their families within communities across West Central Services providing whole family support which is easily accessible and non-stigmatising. We listen and learn from children and families to develop the service alongside our partners.
We adopt a relational and restorative approach which helps families to strengthen relationships and reduce emotional distress. We invest in reflective and trauma-sensitive practice which guides workers to develop a relationship with family members characterised by trust, respect, honesty, compassion and an open communication, placing the voice of children, young people and their families at the centre of the support.
Our main Children First base is in Glasgow, but as a key member of our wider leadership team across Glasgow, Inverclyde, South Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire, you will oversee a range of services and some travel would be expected across these areas.
In this position you will play a crucial role in the on-going learning and development of the service and contribute to how we continue to best meet the needs of families across Glasgow and our other services/areas. Building relationships and the ability to communicate effectively internally as well as with external partners and agencies is at the heart of everything you will do.
You should have experience of working in a leadership capacity; of offering reflective support and/or supervision to a team of volunteers/staff/students and able to confidently respond to and manage risk.
Families are facing increasing challenges which makes this is a demanding role requiring tenacity, commitment and flexibility. No two days are the same!
If you have a passion for working alongside families, have experience of keeping children safe, are committed to restorative approaches, and have a professional qualification in a relevant area such as Social Work, Teaching or equivalent in Child Care/Social Care or related area, accredited counselling qualification, or other relevant qualification at SCQF level 9 or higher, then we want to hear from you. Base
We currently have a community base in the Pollok area of the southside of Glasgow. The role involves meeting partners and families across in their local communities in Glasgow and our other services/areas. Due to the needs of the service, this is a fully office/community-based role.

Role Summary:
• Hours: 28 hours per week
• Contract: 2-year fixed term contract (renewal subject to funding)
• Starting salary: Families Outside Scale Points 29-34 and updated annually subject to appraisal and where funds allow. Starting salary £29,467 pro rata (0.8FTE)
• Probation period: A probationary period of 6 months will apply.

The Role:
At Families Outside, we're the only national charity in Scotland working solely to support families affected by imprisonment.
Joining the East of Scotland regional team, within our national Family Support Team, the Regional Family Support Coordinator will support people living in the Edinburgh and Lothians area who have a family member in prison. They will:
• Support families at home and in their community via 1:1, family, and/or peer support
• Work closely with key professionals including prison staff and prison visitors centre staff to provide advice, information, and guidance on a range of issues
• Raise awareness with key professionals within the local community about the impact of imprisonment and our work to improve outcomes for families
• Work closely with HMP Edinburgh, contributing to meetings and events that support the rights of children and families affected by imprisonment
About You:
We are looking for an individual who is:
• Experienced in working with, and alongside families in a creative and flexible way
• Rights-focused in their work and all they do
• Trauma-informed and is willing to understand the impact of imprisonment upon families
• Skilled and knowledgeable in working with people to overcome challenges they face in their day-to-day life
• A confident and effective contributor to working in partnership with others to meet families’ needs.

About Aberlour Glasgow Intensive Family Support Service (IFSS)(City Wide)…
Aberlour is working in partnership with the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership and other Third Sector providers to promote the wellbeing of children and young people by offering caring and responsive support. Aberlour Glasgow Intensive Family Support delivers the support families need, when they need it. The aim of the service is to ensure that children and young people can continue to flourish at home, at school and in their local community.
What we are looking for....
We are looking to recruit a Family Support Worker, working 31.5 hours per week. You will work directly with families to nurture relationships, build on existing strengths and interests, help children and families build skills and confidence and strengthen community connections. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that works for a period of up to 12 months with families to support and enable positive change and improve outcomes. Our ambition is to help children, young people and families feel safe, confident, capable, and included, offering support when it is needed, including evenings and weekends. We believe in working alongside families, empowering them to lead positive change in their own lives.
We are looking for candidates who are experienced in working alongside vulnerable families to assess strengths and needs as well as plan, deliver and evaluate interventions and strategies which enable families to thrive. You will have experience of child and adult protection issues. Experience of working within other childcare settings such as Residential Child Care will be considered.
You must share our vision that collaborative working and relationship based early intervention is the best option for children and families who are feeling overwhelmed or excluded. Ideally you will hold a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above, together with relevant experience of working directly with children or young people and their families. Not afraid to test new ways of working, you will bring a fresh, caring, and collaborative approach which recognises strengths and responds empathically to the needs of children, young people, and their families – this will include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
To succeed in this role, you will need to work flexibly within a variety of locations across Glasgow City, including family homes, schools, and community settings.

Barnardo's Caern Disability Services consist of three unique Projects who deliver a variety of quality services for young people with learning disabilities and/or autism and complex care needs.
We are looking for a dynamic and committed Residential Team Manager to join our Caern Short Breaks Service.
The Service provides support for up to 5 children and young people (aged 5-18) at any one time, by offering short break packages to them and their families/carers. All staff play an active role in supporting the children, young people and their families/carers to achieve positive outcomes, as identified in the Young People's Individual Support Plans. The Service is Registered with the Care Inspectorate as a Residential Service and all staff must be SSSC registered.
The staff team across Caern Services must be fully accepting of our children and be prepared to offer them a professional relationship based on love and acceptance, informed by our understanding of their individual needs, wishes and experiences. We are passionate about the children and young people that we care for, showing understanding, empathy, and consistency in our approach.
You will also work closely with the Team Manager of our Residential Service in Penicuik.
About You:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced individual who can work on their own initiative and is proactive. Direct experience of managing a team and knowledge and skills around supporting children and young people with a learning disability and /or Autism is essential. Safeguarding must be at the heart of your practice.
Caern Short Breaks is a Registered Service with the Care Inspectorate and as Team Manager, you will be the Registered Manager of the Service. You will be responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the house, providing robust management and leadership to the staff team, delivering timely monthly supervision, supporting and monitoring the quality of work, and ensuring that staff are working to high levels of performance within the best interests of the children in our care. You will understand budgets, chair and attend external meetings and will be accountable to the Children's Services Manager who has overall management responsibility of all threeCaern Services.
You will work 37 hours per week and participate in the on-call rota across two of our services for which there is an allowance paid.
