Role

Changeworks is looking for a Senior Consultant that can help grow our activities across a range of clients. The Consultancy team works across a wide scope and range of areas so applicants with knowledge and technical experience across technical, policy or research backgrounds are encouraged.

We are looking for candidates that have proven track records of experience of developing and applying robust technical, analytical, research methodologies and frameworks. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate capacity to secure funding, including writing and developing successful tenders and project or research proposals. You will have at least 3 years of experience delivering in a relevant professional and/or project management role working in a relevant professional environment (e.g. academic, business, technology or community).

Once in post, you will leverage your experience to develop and deliver services that build on building data analysis and incorporate best practice in supporting energy efficiency retrofit, low carbon heat and the development of value chains necessary to decarbonise homes. On one hand, your role will be to help translate opportunities into services and projects tailored to the objectives and needs of our clients and stakeholders. On the other, using your project management skills you will oversee the delivery of a portfolio of high quality services, projects and contacts to ensure that their objectives are delivered on time and to budget.

You’ll be joining Changeworks at a very exciting time as we continue to drive forward our strategy to help us scale our work and achieve our ambitious goal of decarbonising homes across Scotland

About the team

Changeworks has over 35 years’ experience in delivering high-impact solutions for low-carbon living. We work collaboratively with partners, organisations and householders to drive transformation in energy efficiency and to tackle fuel poverty. An opportunity for a Senior Consultant has come up in our busy and growing Consultancy Team.

The Consultancy team provides a range of analytical and advisory services clients including Scottish Government, Registered Social Landlords, Housing Associations, Councils, among others. Our team’s expertise covers a range of areas linked to the decarbonisation of Scotland’s homes including energy efficiency measures, heat decarbonisation and renewables in the built environment, fuel poverty and pro-environmental behaviour change. Our work aims to both assist actors decarbonizing their own assets, as well as inform planning and policy decisions affecting delivery, supply chains and finance.

Senior consultants play a critical role in the Consultancy team by leading the development and delivery of high quality and innovative projects, services and contracts that support Changeworks’ strategy of acceleration of decarbonising Scottish homes and a just transition to net zero. Senior Consultants work with Principal Consultants and other members of the Consultancy team to identify and pursue opportunities to develop and diversify our portfolio of impact-focused income-generating projects and services.

Changeworks is a great place to work. We hold Investors in People Platinum accreditation (something only a few organisations in Scotland have), and we were nominated for employer of the year by the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce this year. Our staff overwhelmingly would recommend us as an employer too.

The Climate Emergency has resulted in ambitious national targets to reduce carbon emissions from the built environment and reduce rates of fuel poverty. This has driven a significant increase in the number of pilot and large-scale interventions delivered by Changeworks and external organisations in this area. These include area-based domestic energy efficiency retrofit and decarbonisation projects and programmes.

We are a growing organisation, and this role is crucial to the delivery of our ambitious objectives. We want to decarbonise homes in Scotland on a massive scale, and that needs talented individuals like you to help us deliver on our objectives. You’ll receive full training plus coaching and mentoring.

We offer a wide range of staff benefits including flexible working, bike to work scheme, an excellent pension scheme and 26 days paid holiday plus 9 public holidays per year.

At Changeworks, we welcome and encourage applications from everyone.
