St Paul’s Youth Forum (SPYF) aims to alleviate the worst effects of poverty in the Blackhill/Provanmill area of Glasgow through our programmes for young people and our local community, focusing on eating, education, exercise and empowerment.

Purpose of the role

Are you passionate about using your skills and talent make a difference to the lives of the people we support? Fundraising is a crucial part of our work at SPYF and allows us to continue our life-changing work with our local communities.

As our Fundraising Officer you will work across St Paul’s Youth Forum (SPYF) to build our fundraising capacity across the organisation. The role will be managed by our Molendinar Community Centre Manager and will have plentiful opportunities for networking and professional development for candidates looking to establish themselves in a career in community development and fundraising.

This is a year-long position funded by the Rank Foundation as part of their Time to Shine programme. Time to Shine provides a unique learning and development opportunity for a candidate who is underemployed or looking for a career change to grow their leadership potential. The DRC Youth Project is a modern youth service which offers safe spaces and supports young people. The new group worker will work together with groups of young people across DRC personal development initiatives. The aim of each group is to provide support, advice and guidance on employment, training and career and personal development for the young people. In doing this, the new group worker will liaise with relevant bodies as directed with a key focus on prevention, employability and in some cases, recovery. At the DRC, young people are at the heart of everything we do, and our aim is that every young person we work with is empowered to live their life to its fullest potential.

The group worker’s core function is to offer a variety of information and support that will help fulfil the personal development requirements of each young person. The group worker will equip the young people to meet life challenges and in particular allow them to access employment and a career path within their own aspirations and capabilities. To achieve this, the post holder will continually engage with young people utilising various DRC Youth Project resources and key specialist partners. The post holder will also support the DRC management team in the day to day running of the project’s various youth provisions.

Bridges Project is a leading youth work charity that helps young people aged 12-25 in East Lothian and Midlothian overcome challenges and adapt to adulthood. Since 1984, we have helped young people develop their life skills, improve their educational attainment and move into employment or further education. We have a vacancy for a GIRFEC Support Worker to provide bespoke, individually tailored support packages to young people who have been identified as not engaging or coping with mainstream school.

The successful candidate will:

• Provide a mixture of one to one intervention and group learning to young people, including support in areas such as wellbeing, personal and emotional development and employability
• Support young people to gain employability skills, life skills and accreditation; helping them in to work, apprenticeships, further education or vocational training
• Deliver tailored support packages to young people enabling them to create and realise their career pathways and progress in to post school opportunities

It is essential that candidates have a full, clean driving licence with business insurance and constant use of a car. Membership of the PVG scheme will be an essential requirement of the post. A contributory company pension scheme is offered with a 10% employer contribution.

Community Volunteers Enabling You (COVEY) has operated across Lanarkshire for 32 years supporting 5,000 children, young people and parents/carers to become more resilient, safe and better equipped to reach their full potential. COVEY provides 1-1 and group-based befriending, mentoring and family support.

COVEY is seeking a passionate, professional and proactive individual to provide support to families who are experiencing difficulties or challenges in their everyday lives such as isolation, mental and physical health problems, disability, poverty and trauma. This involves direct work with children, young people, parents/carers and whole families via 1-1 intervention/support and group-based mentoring.

The successful candidate will provide person centred, relationship-based support to children, young people and parents/carers to help them identify and address short-term needs (strengthening confidence, wellbeing and family/community relationships) and support long-term aspirations into positive destinations.

This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals, manage complex cases, and support volunteer mentors. If you have a strong background in family support and are driven by our mission to create positive change, apply today and help families thrive.

Our befriending groups run from 6pm – 8pm in the evenings.
