Capability Scotland is a well-established and respected provider of community-based facilitation services throughout Dumfries and Galloway.
Our service supports people to engage in employment, education, volunteering and activities of their choice in their communities. To do this Capability Scotland provides:
· Wrap-around rehabilitation service for people with an Acquired Brain Injury
· Community facilitation service for people with physical disabilities
· Self-directed support brokerage and payroll service.
We currently have an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Adviser vacancy within our Acquired Brain Injury Service.
About the role
We are currently looking to recruit an Acquired Brain Injury Advisor to provide specialist information and advice to people aged 16-64years, their families and carers in the management of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), including assessment of needs, support to individuals with ABI, practical support around inclusion and achievement of personal outcomes.
Using a flexible approach the candidate will deliver support via variety of approaches such as Self-Management Training Courses, online/ face to face drop-in support and home visits. The candidate should have a working knowledge and understanding, and or lived experience of managing/supporting Acquired Brain Injury aligned with legislation and guidance such as SIGN Guidelines.
We are looking for someone with experience in undertaking holistic assessment of needs, including the identification of existing and new opportunities within the local communities while signposting users to specialist resources, such as employment, education, life skills and leisure opportunities.
The role involves a degree of lone working and visiting people in their own homes. This post is advertised for 24 hours between Monday – Friday, a working pattern will agree with the line manager. This role is office based from Afton Drive, Dumfries and will include visiting people in their own homes across the region.
What we're looking for:
· Experience of working in a similar role and environment
· Specialist knowledge and understanding in working with people who have an acquired brain injury.
· Knowledge of the wider health and social care partnership
· Willingness to undertake any personal development opportunities.
· A care related SVQ Level 3 or recognised, (SSSC) equivelant or working towards.
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
· Full Driving License and access to a car is required due to the flexible approach of this role.
