Role

Paths for All is a Scottish Charity. We have a very clear focus. We want to get Scotland walking: Everyone. Everyday. Everywhere. Our vision is for Scotland to be a walking nation. We want everyone to have the opportunity to be active every day, creating a happier, healthier and greener Scotland. A key element of this work involves significantly increasing the number of people who choose to walk in Scotland for both leisure and practical journeys.

This post involves managing Paths for All’s transport related grants programmes with line management responsibility for two supporting Development Officers. The programmes are aimed at getting people to walk, cycle and wheel more for short journeys and adopt sustainable travel options for longer journeys.

The postholder will be responsible for managing relationships and reporting to the remaining Smarter Choices Smarter Places programme and the new Community Transition Fund as well as leading on the networking and co-design elements of Community Transition Fund delivery. The Programmes provide grants to public and third sector organisations, encourages the sharing of good practice and promotes collaborative work at local, regional and national level.

The Senior Development Officer has a key role in prioritising the delivery of the grant programme. In addition they will support and encouraging Regional Transport Partnerships to design a method of delivery for future years that will ensure a continuation of financial support to important community led projects, delivering behaviour change towards more sustainable forms of transport. Experience of grants and grant programmes is essential to the role.

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills alongside a commitment and passion for encouraging and developing behaviour change within the sustainable transport sector.

If you’re looking for a new challenge in a varied role, and you’re interested in supporting communities to thrive and reducing health inequalities and working towards net-zero, we’d love to hear from you.

We offer the opportunity to be part of an organisation that recognises staff as our most valued asset. Attractive employment conditions include a contributory pension scheme and flexi-time policy.
