CIS seeks a Befriending Coordinator with experience in developing volunteer befriending programmes and managing, motivating and supporting volunteers.
The person needs to be organised, able to work well with others in a small team, and committed to a human rights ethos and CIS’s values.
We will guarantee an interview to anyone with lived experience of the asylum system who fulfils the essential criteria of the person specification.
The Befriending Coordinator will build upon our bespoke Befriending Programme for socially isolated people in the refugee and asylum community. Supporting volunteer befrienders who will provide meaningful connections between themselves and their befriendees, supporting emotional wellbeing and integration into the community.
Community InfoSource has secured funding from the Glasgow Communities Fund and The Henry Smith Foundation for this post. The post is part-time, 21 hours a week for just over a year, until the end of March 2025 and then subject to further funding being available.
