Funding Scotland provides in-person and online funding learning and engagement, shares insights into the funding landscape, and manages the biggest grants and funding platform in Scotland. About the role

We’re recruiting a one-year post to cover the planning and delivery of our Funding Scotland service to ensure Scotland’s charities and other voluntary organisations are supported to thrive.

You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the service by using your funding/fundraising knowledge and your project management skills to:

• Engage and build relationships with stakeholders across the sector
• Design and deliver online and in-person learning opportunities
• Share funding/fundraising expertise through presentations and other events
• Identify ways to develop funding.scot and ensure its data is accurate and timely
• Contribute to our Fair Funding work
• Collaborate with teams across SCVO to support one another’s plans

About you

• You’ll have worked in a funding, fundraising or grants management post previously, and be comfortable sharing your expertise.

• Your strong project or service management skills will enable you to develop and coordinate the Funding Scotland service throughout the year.

• You’ll bring engaging communication skills to build relationships and present learning and support confidently to the sector.

While this is a standalone post, it works with teams across SCVO so you’ll be joining a skilled, experienced staff team who are keen to help you to succeed. This includes our digital, customer service, comms, and learning and events teams.

You’ll also be supported directly by the Head of Information and Support in finding your feet and prioritising your workload.

Where the role fits in our organisation

Our Communications and Impact team leads on communications, media, engagement with the third sector and partners across Dumfries and Galloway, systems, data and insights, evaluation and impact, storytelling, regional and national sector promotion, and internal communications. This role reports to our Head of Communications and Impact and is peer-supported by the other members of the Communications and Impact team.

What You'll Do

We are looking for a colleague to lead our digital transformation, change management and innovation agenda, both within TSDG and across the wider third sector in Dumfries and Galloway. Internally, you will develop and deliver a digital roadmap for TSDG, championing effective use of our core platforms and building staff confidence and capability. Externally, you will strengthen digital inclusion in Dumfries and Galloway, lead our digital collaboration tool, and help other third sector organisations optimise their digital use and collaborate more effectively.

• Develop and lead delivery of a digital transformation roadmap for TSDG, covering systems, data, process improvement and digital capability.

• Deliver effective, joined-up use of internal digital platforms, reducing duplication, improving data flow between systems and strengthening reporting.

• Lead change management activity through communication and training, supporting staff to adopt new tools and ways of working.

• Identify and pilot digital approaches, including emerging AI tools, that could improve our efficiency or service delivery.

• Lead, develop and monitor our digital collaboration tool, including the digital collaboration of the Whole Family Support project alongside Borders and Midlothian TSIs.

• Work with third sector organisations across Dumfries and Galloway to deliver measurable improvements in the sector’s digital maturity, promoting shared digital tools and good practice and leading peer learning and knowledge-sharing.

• Lead TSDG’s participation in the TSI/DIA Local to National learning pilot, and develop and chair a Local Digital Steering Group to embed and evidence digital inclusion in local strategies and plans.

• Produce clear, accessible evidence and recommendations to inform partners, funders and decision-makers.

• Represent digital transformation interests in relevant local partnerships, strategy groups and funding conversations.

• Support colleagues across TSDG and contribute to effective team working, in line with our values.

What does the role involve?

Board Members support the strategic direction, governance, and sustainability of Borders Independent Advocacy Service. Responsibilities include:

• Attending quarterly Board meetings (held both online and in person).
• Attending occasional additional meetings, particularly during key development periods.
• Meetings usually lasting less than 2 hours
• Reviewing Board papers in advance, which are circulated by email (hard copies available on request)
• Supporting good governance and effective decision-making.
• Acting as an ambassador for BIAS.
• Contributing skills, expertise, and insight.
• Supporting the organisation to achieve its strategic objectives.

We are seeking an individual who can lead and influence a positive organisational culture across multiple services and locations, equip managers to address people challenges confidently and effectively, and develop practical, people-centred approaches that strengthen workforce capability, wellbeing and service quality.

Essential

• CIPD Level 3 qualification or above (or equivalent experience)
• Significant experience in a senior HR management, business partnering or organisational development role.
• Excellent knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience supporting managers with complex employee relations issues.
• Experience leading workforce development, organisational change and policy development.
• Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.

Desirable

• Experience in the voluntary, charity, health, social care or other regulated sectors.
• Experience supporting a diverse values driven workforce.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and safer recruitment practices.
• Experience of developing and promoting positive workplace culture, employee engagement and wellbeing programmes.
