Role

Hillcrest Futures is recruiting for Flexible Support Workers. Various hours per month are available across our Edinburgh Services.

About the Service

There are vacancies for Flexible Support Workers in our Edinburgh Services; St John’s Hill, Bruntsfield and Oxgangs. We support individuals who are homeless and most likely to have experienced some level of trauma, exclusion and stigma in their life.

About the Role

The role will involve:

  • Providing emotional and practical support
  • Supporting individuals to develop and maintain independent living skills.
  • Support to access community-based services/resources
  • Promotion of positive mental health including coping strategies

About You

You will:

  • Have a positive, flexible attitude, with an encouraging nature
  • Have excellent communication skills including verbal and written
  • Be highly organised with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Have the ability to react efficiently and effectively in emergency situations
  • Be open to attending and maintaining ongoing training needs
  • Possess an SVQ 2 in Health and Social Care or have the ability to work towards this qualification
  • Have flexibility with shifts patterns including weekend work and evenings.

All successful candidates will be required to obtain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post.
