About the Role
Far more than a traditional HR role, this position offers the opportunity to influence both strategy and delivery. Reporting to the CEO, you'll work in partnership with senior leaders to develop HR priorities that support organisational growth, while leading the implementation of initiatives, policies and processes that bring those priorities to life. Combining strategic input with hands-on operational support, you'll work alongside managers to navigate day-to-day people challenges, improve employee experience, and ensure our workforce has the support, skills and leadership needed to succeed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading recruitment and workforce planning initiatives to attract high-quality talent
- Designing and delivering effective onboarding processes that set staff up for success
- Supporting managers with employee relations matters, including performance, absence, disciplinary and grievance processes
- Developing and implementing HR policies, procedures and best practice
- Driving employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives
- Supporting the delivery of a culture of continuous learning and professional development
- Ensuring compliance with employment legislation and sector-specific regulatory requirements
- Producing workforce data and reports to support informed decision-making and organisational planning
- Identifying trends in turnover, absence and workforce performance and developing proactive solutions
- Supporting organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
You are an experienced HR professional who combines strong technical expertise with a genuine passion for people.
You enjoy building positive relationships, supporting managers to succeed, and creating practical HR solutions that help organisations thrive.
You will bring:
- CIPD membership or equivalent qualification and experience
- Demonstrable and extensive HR experience in a generalist role
- Strong knowledge of current employment legislation and HR best practice
- Experience across recruitment, employee relations, performance management and absence management
- The ability to influence, coach and support managers with confidence
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and report-writing skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- A proactive, solution-focused and collaborative approach
- Experience within the third sector, social care or a regulated environment is desirable but not essential.

Our Activity Centres provide innovative and person-centred services and support to veterans struggling with sight loss. This job exists in order to provide tailored support to veterans carrying out woodworking projects. You will work alongside the veterans to identify abilities, share ideas and plan projects within the activity Centre. As Team Facilitator in our North Lanarkshire team, you will work closely with the Service Manager to lead and support a team of Personal Assistants to deliver safe, effective and person-centred support.
What You’ll Do
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead, motivate and support a team of Personal Assistants.
- Conduct regular supervisions, observations and performance reviews.
- Assist with the induction of new staff.
- Support attendance, absence and staff wellbeing.
- Promote positive communication and effective team working.
Service Delivery
- Ensure people we support receive high-quality, person-centred support.
- Support staff to promote choice, independence, dignity and inclusion.
- Participate in assessments, support planning, reviews and risk assessments.
- Carry out quality assurance checks, including spot checks and feedback.

Enable Glasgow is a community based charity working with adults with learning disabilities and their carers and families in Glasgow. We are currently recruiting for a 22 hour night shift support worker at our Balshagray House Service in the Broomhill area of the city. Balshagray is a supported community in the west end of Glasgow which provides 24-hour support and care to adults with learning disabilities. The project currently supports 17 people, 13 of whom live the main house, with another 4 living in more independent tenancies close by.
We provide 24-hour waking support to service users in the main house, most of whom have relatively complex support needs. The people who are supported by Balshagray have close links with the local community, and the project actively links those living at the unit with a local support network.
We are looking for staff members who share Enable Glasgow’s values in promoting the rights of individuals with learning disabilities to live fulfilling and meaningful lives. Our frontline support workers are incredible, caring and talented individuals whose skills are invaluable to supporting the well-being of some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
