The role focuses on engagement, stabilisation, housing and homelessness prevention, advocacy, practical support and community navigation.

Working across community, hospital and partner settings, the Hospital Navigator will support individuals to overcome barriers, access essential services and improve stability within their lives.

The Hospital Navigator will work collaboratively with statutory and third-sector partners to ensure individuals receive coordinated support and, where ongoing recovery-focused intervention is required, facilitate onward referral into Dedicated Addiction Worker support through the ASSIST pathway.

The Dedicated Addication Worker forms part of the ASSIST Service and provides intensive support to individuals affected by alcohol and substance use who are experiencing multiple and complex challenges.

The role focuses on recovery planning, psychosocial support, harm reduction, motivation, resilience and community reintegration.

Working across community the Dedicated Addication Worker will support individuals to overcome barriers, access essential services and improve stability within their lives.

You will work collaboratively with statutory and third-sector partners to ensure individuals receive coordinated support and, where ongoing recovery-focused intervention is required, facilitate onward referral to other organisations.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Recovery Coordinator who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs. With this role you’ll be working as part of the South East Recovery Hub team, based in Gilmerton. The team supports people with their or their loved ones’ drug and/or alcohol issues.

No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the role:

• Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey
• Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral
• Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
• Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
• Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
• Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination
• Research, design and prepare subject matter and materials for groups / pods.
• Deliver structured content within group settings to service users at various stages of recovery
• Engage with debriefing and evaluations with co-facilitators after groups/pods have taken place, reviewing progress and identifying concerns with service users
• Tailor specific workshops around the needs of the service users, such as: anger management, sleep disorders, relationships, etc

About you:

• Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
• Experience of working with groups/pods and managing group dynamics, such as conflict or challenging behaviour.
• Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
• Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
• Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
• Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
• Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
• Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
• Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others

Scottish Recovery Consortium (SRC) is looking for a proactive, self-motivated team player to be part of an exciting development in partnership with the Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership (ACHSCP). ACHSCP and SRC were successful in a funding bid through the Gambling Levy Fund, and we now have the opportunity to create a post that will specifically develop a Gambling Harm Recovery Network (GHRN) across Aberdeen City. Scottish Recovery Consortium will host this post (initially for 1 year) with the potential to extend for another three years. SRC will have an integral role in the project, providing ongoing development work and specialist expertise.

The project aims to create a learning, adaptive, person centred system of support for gambling harms in Aberdeen City. It operationalises national recommendations, leverages local assets, embeds trauma informed and lived experience driven approaches, and builds a more coherent, equitable, and responsive system of care. Through this work, ACHSCP and SRC will reduce unmet need and move closer to the national vision for a public health-led, person-centred response to gambling harms.

As an employee of the Scottish Recovery Consortium (SRC), the post holder will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer, who has overall responsibility for the SRC element of this project. The successful post holder will have a unique opportunity to work directly with the Community and Prisons-based teams within SRC and, externally, with a range of partners across Aberdeen City, including ACHSCP.

The role involves designing, developing and delivering a local GHRN across Aberdeen City. The postholder will work alongside people with lived and living experience, communities, statutory services and the third sector to strengthen recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and rights-based responses to gambling harms.

This is a role in the north of Scotland, requiring travel across Aberdeen City. There is also an expectation that you will attend SRC monthly staff team meetings in our Glasgow office and any others relevant to organisational work and development. Your role will be to:

• Asset map the current gambling support across Aberdeen City
• Identify gaps in provision
• Lead the development, design, delivery and coordination of a local GHRN.
• Build strong working relationships with partners to ensure the collaborative success of the project
