Award-winning animal charity Pet Blood Bank UK is recruiting for a Regional Coordinator based in Scotland.

Working closely with the Area Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful coordination of donation sessions within your region. With a regional collection team comprising of between 15-25 Vets, Nurses and Donor Assistants, you will be a key person in building relationships with our venues, increasing donor recruitment and retention, and developing our growing pool of regional volunteers whilst striving to make sure our donation sessions are successful.

What you’ll do

As the Regional Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring all the relevant tasks and procedures are adhered to, to successfully coordinate donation sessions within your region. This will involve:

Working closely with the Area Manager who will provide support and guidance on this evolving role.

Ongoing development and support of donation sessions within your region, ensuring sessions run as efficiently and effectively as possible, whilst increasing donor recruitment and attendance.

Responsible for ensuring that any feedback is communicated between the Area Manager and the regional clinical team at the earliest opportunity.

Working alongside the Area Manager to ensure the region is meeting the key performance indicators set out for the collection teams, looking at methods to motivate the team and encourage them to achieve the most successful outcome for each potential donor.

Support the building of a volunteer team within the region, develop a pool of volunteers trained to support sessions, events and, where appropriate, the transport of kit and blood.

Organise and manage the rota for your region by liaising with the team to ensure all sessions are fully covered.

Help organise and attend events to raise awareness of Pet Blood Bank in your region. You will be required to deliver presentations on Pet Blood Bank to potential donor owners, veterinary professionals, and other organisations.

As part of this role, you will be required to build relations with the other departments within Pet Blood Bank and support the communication between the collection team and other departments.

Due to the nature of the work carried out by Pet Blood Bank, flexibility is key to this role. You will be expected to be part of a weekend duty on-call rota (1 in 6 weekends).

What we need

An excellent, confident communicator (written and verbal) who has a proven background working effectively with a variety of people including peers, clients, and volunteers. Good time management, ability to self-motivate, think proactively, and be an enthusiastic team player who strives for continued improvement. Experience of working within or knowledge of the charity sector is beneficial.

We’re looking for someone who:

Has an animal health related qualification, proven experience working with dogs, or holds a veterinary qualification

Has previous team leadership or supervision experience

Experience using Microsoft Office (word, outlook, excel)

Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to their own transport

Has a confident and professional manner with the ability to problem solve

Is committed to positive customer experience

Confident engaging and speaking to the public and professionals.

This role comprises of 15 hours administration time per week, these hours are home based and worked across Monday/Wednesday and Friday, working 5 hours per day you will have flexibility to pick the hours worked between 9am-5pm ensuring the core hours of 10am-12noon are covered. In addition, it includes a minimum of working 12 blood donation sessions annually (average 3/quarter) at varied locations on weekend days. Flexibility around the time work is undertaken is essential as some evening and weekend work will be required. Full training will be given for both the administration role and to perform a team role on a donation session relevant to qualifications.

Living within the region you are supervising is essential, a central location to sessions with easy access to our Dunfermline offices is preferable. Working a minimum of one day per month from the Dunfermline office will be required to help maintain our donation session equipment.

Travel is required within your region to and from donation sessions and our Dunfermline office, a mileage allowance is paid for this, there is no access to a company vehicle. Occasional travel to neighbouring regions or Pet Blood Bank offices (Loughborough) will be required with notice.

Following the launch of our new strategy in 2025 and the continued expansion of our services for young people, we are investing further in our fundraising capacity through the recruitment of a new Community & Corporate Fundraiser Role. As an organisation, we have traditionally relied heavily on grants and trusts as our main source of income. While this will remain an important funding stream, we are now looking to diversify our income by increasing support from community fundraising, events, and corporate partnerships. At this important stage of growth, we are also keen to raise the profile and awareness of U-evolve and the impact of our work supporting young people’s mental health.

This is a new role, offering a real opportunity to shape and develop sustainable income streams, create meaningful fundraising opportunities, and make a tangible impact on the future of our services. Working alongside our Fundraising Lead — who focuses primarily on grants and trusts — you will play a key part in generating income through community fundraising initiatives, events, and corporate sponsorship. Responsibilities will include planning and managing a calendar of fundraising events, identifying opportunities to raise awareness of U-evolve within local communities, delivering talks and presentations to encourage support, and developing and managing sponsorship relationships.

What we are looking for

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about improving young people’s mental health and who genuinely connects with our mission and values. You will have:

• Experience in fundraising, ideally including community fundraising, events, or corporate partnerships
• Experience working directly with young people and/or within mental health or a related field or an understanding of the challenges young people face today.
• Experience in building networks or contacts that could support awareness-raising, partnerships or fundraising activity.
• Confidence in building relationships and representing U-evolve externally
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable manner.

Job Specifics

Salary: £27,500 pro rata

Hours: 14 hours per week, with flexibility and option for hybrid working.

Contract: Fixed Term, 18 months, with the potential to be extended, dependant on funding.

THE ROLE

Working in cooperation with our policy team, comms team, community engagement teams and the Scottish Trans Manager and CEO, the Strategic Partnership and Campaigns Coordinator supports the development and delivery of the Equality Network’s work to improve LGBTQIA+ equality, rights and inclusion in Scotland.

The role’s primary purpose is to build strategic and accessible campaigns and relationships particularly around trans rights. This means that the post-holder will work closely with the Scottish Trans Manager.

The role will involve working with partners, the community, and with those who have influence (including the media) in Scotland and where necessary wider in the UK and internationally where expertise is needed on trans equality and human rights issues and priorities. The aim is to build partnerships and coalitions, change hearts and minds, and to collectively push for progressive change for marginalised LGBTQIA+ people, particularly trans people. This will also involve working with teams and partners on how these campaigns for progressive change can contribute to bettering narratives, particularly around trans people’s equality and human rights.

Our new strategy highlights the vital nature of partnerships in the face of a shared threat. Our partners include all other organisations which provide and advocate for our community as equalities and rights-holders, both those explicitly working for the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community and those who provide and advocate for other marginalised communities, intersectional communities or on issues relevant and pertinent to our community and their lives.

Our key aim with this role is to build effective coalitions in Scotland and to connect with intersecting campaigns to maximise impact.

This new role will work alongside our senior management team and across partner sectors to strategise and push back against current exclusionary policy and harmful narratives around trans people’s human rights.
