About the role:
This is a brilliant opportunity to join our Tenant Advice Team.
In this role you will provide high quality, specialist welfare benefits advice and advocacy to our tenants to ensure that income is maximised and tenancies sustained.
You will be promoting the service and working in partnership to resolve customers’ issues.
About you:
You must:
- Have at least 2 years’ experience of working in a welfare rights and benefits advice role
- Have thorough knowledge of welfare benefits; welfare reform and best practice in welfare benefits advice
- Be educated to Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework level 6
A level 1 disclosure check is required. This role is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

Health and Safety Officer
Reporting to the Health and Safety (H&S) Manager, this role will be responsible for leading on H&S initiatives across Cairn. This will include our corporate H&S strategy, including policy and procedure development, risk management, carrying out H&S audits, incident reviews, training, project work and administration. The role will work with internal and external stakeholders in a collaborative approach to develop safe systems of work and processes based on legislation and best practice.
Requirements – What We’re Looking For:
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent as a minimum and preferably NEBOSH Diploma or willing to achieve this level
- IOSH membership at professional grades or willing to achieve this level
- Comprehensive knowledge of H&S law and legislation
- Extensive knowledge and experience of working at Officer level in a H&S service within an equivalent sized employer
- Experience of a broad range of H&S areas relevant to the role, including risk assessments and high-risk areas such as the ‘big 7’ and other relevant risk areas for a Registered Social Landlord
- Demonstratable project management skills
- Ability to support our staff across a Scotland wide operation
- IT Literate in the use of IT programs and health and safety systems and proficient in Microsoft Office

Reporting to the Compliance Manager this role will be responsible the planning and delivery of the Landlord Compliance activities through the management and administration of planned servicing activities, as well as responsibility for resolution any areas of non-compliance.
This includes liaison with colleagues in Maintenance, Investment and Health and Safety to advise on satisfactory solutions and ensure requirements are met. Officers will coordinate and monitor performance of service providers through a combination of external contracts or internal SLAs.
Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Do:
Specification & Procurement
- Lead on the development and specifications of compliance activities
- Undertake procurement exercises in line with regulatory requirements, procuring contracts and services to meet Cairn’s requirements
Data
- Ensure that the Group’s compliance data records are maintained as accurate, accessible and up to date
- Verify all necessary certification and evidence captured and retained in order to demonstrate compliance at all times
Policies & Procedures
- Assist the Leadership Team in the periodic review, amendment and implementation of policies and procedures as required
- Uphold a consistently high standard of service delivery and ensure compliance of statutory regulations, legal requirements and relevant codes of practice, guidance and good practice are achieved.
Contractor Management
- Ensure that Health and Safety legislation, guidance and good practice are strictly adhered to
- Manage and oversee the delivery of external contracts in the role of client project manager
- Perform inspection, instruction and supervision of planned maintenance works
- Lead on project progress reporting for planned compliance projects
- Review, monitor and report on contractor and consultant service delivery and performance
- Ensure all appropriate policies and procedures are consistently applied and implemented to specifications
- Drive compliance to demonstrate the quality of works comply with industry standards, statutory regulations, guidance, good practice and Cairn HA standards
Budget Management
- Monitor budgets for Compliance activities in conjunction with the Compliance Manager
- Exercise financial control in line with delegated authority levels
Line Management
- Provide support and guidance to Assistants in delivery of compliance activities
- Monitor and oversee performance in line with Cairn performance reviews, training requirements and target setting
Strategic Planning
- Produce reports to Compliance Manager to inform the strategic compliance and asset management planning process
- Participate in the specification and proposal of programmes of work to deliver compliance activities

- Relevant building or construction related qualification to HND level
- Comprehensive knowledge of H&S law and legislation

We are recruiting an Estates and Factoring Manager to join our Technical Division. The successful candidate will have demonstrable property factoring experience, with a track record of providing a customer focussed service across estates and/or facilities management. This is a high-profile, hands-on role involving stakeholder engagement, and collaborative working across multiple partners and disciplines.
As line manager you will lead a multi-function team (including site-based concierge and guard patrol services) in support of our priorities. This includes day to day estates and facilities management, property factoring services in line with our Written Statement of Services, and investment in our assets. As part of the management team your focus will be enhancing the quality of our neighbourhoods, optimising performance, ensuring value for money and resident satisfaction.

Cadder Housing Association is a registered social landlord based in Glasgow which owns and maintains 699 homes for affordable rent and provides factoring services to over 400 private homeowners. Established in 1993 the organisation is a community anchor for the people of Cadder. The Association owns Cadder Community Hub where we provide a range of activities for our residents.
Creating Cadder’s Spark is an ambitious four-year community wellbeing and environmental programme led by Cadder Housing Association. Funded by The National Lottery Community Action Fund, this new programme will offer a diverse range of activities that bring people together, improve health, strengthen local connections, and enhance access to nature. Activities will run across Cadder Community Hub, Cadder Woods, and within the local community, enabling residents to take part in accessible, free sessions close to home.
