Cairn is currently recruiting for Health & Safety Officer and Compliance Officer roles as part of our strong commitment to Health and Safety legal compliance and the safety of our staff and tenants across the Association. These are varied and fast-paced roles and ideal for someone who enjoys being visible and influencing a positive, proactive, safety culture.
Health and Safety Officer
Reporting to the Health and Safety (H&S) Manager, this role will be responsible for leading on H&S initiatives across Cairn. This will include our corporate H&S strategy, including policy and procedure development, risk management, carrying out H&S audits, incident reviews, training, project work and administration. The role will work with internal and external stakeholders in a collaborative approach to develop safe systems of work and processes based on legislation and best practice.

This role is ideal for someone who loves Leith and north Edinburgh as much as we do, and who has a strong track record of developing effective multi-channel communications and marketing campaigns.

In this interesting and varied role, you will be joining us following a period of transition as we roll out our new organisational structure. You will be playing a key role in developing our internal communications strategy to support our new ways of working.

About you:
- You have 2-3 years’ experience in a communications and/or marketing role
- You are educated to Degree level or equivalent (SCQF Level 9) in communications, marketing or a related discipline
- You are a confident communicator who can foster good working relationships
- You have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once

As our Housing and Customer Support Manager, you’ll lead the Customer Support Team and Assistant Housing Officers, ensuring tenants receive excellent, consistent, and compassionate service from first contact through to tenancy sustainment.
Working closely with the Director of Customer Services and Communities and Housing Manager, you will take the lead on:
- Customer Contact & Service Quality: ensuring a responsive, high‑quality first‑point‑of‑contact experience where customers feel supported and heard.
- Allocations, Voids & Estate Management: overseeing effective processes that minimise void loss, maintain high standards and support sustainable tenancies.
- Performance & Compliance: monitoring KPIs, supporting regulatory returns, ensuring adherence to the Scottish Social Housing Charter, and producing meaningful performance insight.
- Team Leadership: coaching, motivating, and developing staff through a behaviour‑led approach that encourages growth, innovation, and accountability.
- Continuous Improvement: identifying opportunities to streamline processes, enhance customer experience and champion new ways of working.
This is a two‑year fixed‑term role, but we expect the position to be reviewed in due course - offering a unique opportunity to shape how customer and housing services evolve at Cloch. The role is full‑time (35 hours per week) with a salary of £51,075 – £55,259 (Grade 8), hybrid working, 8 weeks’ annual leave (29 days + 11 public holidays), SHAPS pension scheme and a range of wellbeing benefits.

Glasgow West Housing Association Ltd is a voluntary, not for profit organisation and a registered charity. With history dating back to 1978, we have a vision of shaping thriving communities. We own over 1500 rented properties; and through our trading subsidiary (Glasgow West Enterprises Ltd), we provide property factoring services to just over 600 domestic and commercial properties.
We are seeking to appoint two experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Technical Officers to join our Technical Division, supporting our ambitious investment plans across component replacement, major fabric repairs (including preventative maintenance and incident response, and common repairs), net-zero initiatives and cyclical maintenance projects with a view to ensuring Scottish Housing Quality Standards (SHQS) compliance, enhancing the quality of our homes, ensuring resident satisfaction, improving our neighbourhoods and preservation of our tenemental heritage.
These are dynamic, hands-on roles involving site visits, stakeholder engagement, procurement activity, and collaborative working across multiple partners and disciplines. You will act as client representative in contract management, ensure regulatory and health & safety compliance, and deliver high standards of customer service and performance.
