Role

About Us

The Greyfriars Charteris Centre is a vibrant community and events venue in the heart of Edinburgh, hosting a wide range of cultural, arts, and community activities. We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and well-managed space for all our users.

Purpose of the Role

The Core Duty Manager role exists to ensure the safe, clean, welcoming and well-managed delivery of evening and weekend bookings and events at the Greyfriars Charteris Centre.

During evenings and weekends, the Duty Manager is the on-site operational lead, responsible for the smooth running of events, the safety and security of the building, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the Centre.

When not directly supporting hirers or managing events, the Duty Manager is expected to proactively undertake cleaning, housekeeping, stock monitoring and basic maintenance tasks, ensuring the Centre is left clean, safe and fully ready for the next day’s use.

This is a hands-on role combining event support, customer service, building oversight and cleaning, typical of a hospitality-style Duty Manager position in a busy venue.
