About Cranhill Development Trust
Cranhill Development Trust (CDT) is a community-led organisation working to improve the quality of life for people living in Cranhill and surrounding areas. We tackle poverty and inequality and create opportunities through community development, learning, employability, and health and wellbeing activities.
Purpose of the Role
The Youth Worker will plan and deliver a varied programme of activities for children and young people, creating safe, welcoming and inclusive opportunities where they can build friendships, develop confidence, learn new skills and have fun.
The role will have a particular focus on engaging children and young people who experience barriers to participation due to poverty, social isolation, inequality or exclusion. This includes supporting children and young people from minoritised communities, including refugee, asylum-seeking and newly arrived families, to feel welcomed, included and connected to their community.
The postholder will build trusted relationships with children and young people and ensure their voices and interests help shape the programme.
Working Pattern: The 21 hours can be worked flexibly across 3 or 4 days per week, depending on the successful candidate. This could be three 7-hour days or four shorter working days of approximately 5–6 hours.
