About Open Door Scotland
Open Door Scotland is a youth homelessness charity supporting young people aged 16–25 who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Many of the young people we work with are care experienced, facing poor mental health, social isolation, or significant barriers to education, training, and employment. The needs of the young people we
support are often complex, requiring consistent, high quality, and risk-aware operational leadership.
We provide housing-related support across a range of settings, alongside practical, emotional, and developmental support that helps young people stabilize their lives and move towards independence.
While we are proud of our history, our focus is firmly on the future. Demand is increasing, complexity is rising, and we are ambitious about growing our impact. This role is a key part of ensuring we are operationally-strong, inspection ready, and able to expand responsibly.
Job Overview
This is a role for someone who wants genuine ownership. You will oversee people management, rotas, quality assurance, compliance, and operational performance, while working closely with the CEO on risk, improvement priorities, and service development.
The Service Manager holds day-to-day accountability for operational delivery, quality, staffing - working in partnership with the CEO on strategic and organisational risk. They will also deputise for the CEO when they are on leave.
This role requires someone who can work with a high degree of autonomy, make sound judgements under pressure, and establish strong operational grip quickly (with an agreed 30/60/90 day plan).

The Non-Executive Director Role
Non-Executive Directors are collectively-responsible for the governance and strategic direction of Open Door
Scotland. This is a role of responsibility and trust, with legal duties and accountability for the organisation’s financial
health, compliance, and long-term sustainability.
Non-Executive Directors do not manage day-to-day operations. Instead, they provide oversight, constructive
challenge, and support to the CEO and senior leadership, ensuring the organisation is well run, values-led, and focused on its charitable objectives.
We are looking for Non-Executive Directors who will prepare well, contribute constructively, and engage
actively in board discussions and decision-making.
Senior Development Worker (Location Youth)

This role will suit an experienced worker who has excellent partnership working skills and experience of co-ordinating ambitious national projects and programmes. The Senior Development Worker (SDW) will play a key role in effectively managing key relationships with funders and partners as part of Location Youth, They will also line-mange the Location Youth Development Worker and other Youth Scotland staff and youth participation projects.

The Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic, operational and cultural leadership across two well-established youth and community organisations with a combined annual turnover of approximately £900,000.
Working closely with the Board, the CEO will:
- lead the organisations through a period of transition.
- ensure high-quality, safe and impactful services for children, young people and families
- strengthen financial sustainability and strategic partnerships
- ensure efficient and effective use of resources
- represent both organisations at local and national level, aligning delivery with Scottish Government and local authority policy priorities
- work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders to support and deliver the mission of both organisations
The Board of Directors seek a CEO who will be a visible, values-driven leader with a proven track record in senior management. They are successful change makers and managers, and will bring their vision, drive, organisational skills and understanding of the challenges facing third sector organisations and those faced by the people living in the areas served by Fuse and The Pavillion.
