This new part-time Family Support Lead will join our existing part-time Family Support Lead to ensure we have full-time service coverage across the working week (Monday to Friday), with a crossover day on a Wednesday.

The Family Support Lead assists the Chief Executive (CE) by ensuring all staff members are fully supported to undertake their duties, provide a high quality service and have their needs met. The Family Support Lead plays an integral role in coordinating operational delivery, supporting with working practice guidance, policies and processes. The role is integral to the smooth and successful running of operations within the charity. As an organisation who takes pride in supporting families to a high standard, it is essential that we offer the same level of support and care to our staff members.

In addition to this, Family Support Leads will support a small caseload of families in the same way as our Family Support Workers. These cases may be more complex in nature than our typical cases. In your Family Support Worker capacity, you will provide one-to-one holistic, information, advice and support to families across Highland via phone/email/online, supporting and enabling them to improve their lives by building their confidence, empowering them to recognise their personal expertise and value, implement practical support strategies, access services, know their rights, and have their voices heard.

We have an exciting opportunity to join Aberlour on a job share basis, working alongside an existing experienced Assistant Director to help shape and deliver high quality care and support for children, young people and families across Moray and the Highlands. This is a key leadership role within an organisation committed to compassion, innovation and improving outcomes for those who need us most. There is an expectation as the external manager to undertake regular service visits.

As an experienced leader, you will work with strategic partners to design and deliver services and models of care that respond to local needs. You will oversee the leadership and management of our established services, including our registered disability residential and respite service, our community youth and family support service in Elgin, and our service for unaccompanied asylum seeking children in Inverness. You will also work closely with commissioners to identify future needs and opportunities for growth and development.

You will bring demonstrable management experience within social care in the public, private or voluntary sector. You will thrive on building strong relationships with commissioners, local government, NHS colleagues, third sector partners and trusts. You will be confident navigating tendering processes, analysing budgets and influencing local and national policy to improve outcomes for vulnerable children, young people and families. You will confidently lead Policy into practice, ensuring the principles of The Promise, UNCRC and GIRFEC are embedded across our services.

You will hold a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 9 or above, plus a management qualification at SCQF level 8 or above. More information about the role can be found on our website.

About the job share...

This is a 50/50 split job share arrangement, working 18.75 hours over 2.5 consecutive days per week. Preferred working days are Wednesday half day pm to Friday pm, with a structured handover built into the pattern to ensure continuity and shared leadership.

• Hold full accountability for day to day operational decisions

• Share planned responsibilities such as audits, supervision and strategic tasks

• Contribute equally to leadership, planning and partnership work

• Share financial and budgetary oversight

• Contribute equally to growth and development of services across the geographical area

• Participate in national on call

The post holder will work directly with children and young people with experience of care, in an individual relationship-based advocacy role, and within participation and group activity across our west central region. This unique role requires you to listen to what children and young people with experience of care say and support them to ensure their rights are upheld and their voices are heard in the processes of making decisions about their lives. You will also help facilitate a broad range of participatory and engagement opportunities and create the conditions for collective advocacy.

The right candidate for this post will be brilliant at forming positive relationships with children and young people. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, adaptable to a wide range of contexts. You will enjoy working collaboratively with partners. You will be committed to children’s rights, inclusive working, equal opportunities, and believe that all young people can make transformative change happen in their lives if given the opportunity.

The successful candidate will be joining Who Cares? Scotland and working within the west central locality team at an exciting time, when the voices of those who are in or have experienced care are growing in power, individually and collectively – bringing with them insight, challenge, hope and change. Flexibility will be required given the remit of the role. Some evening and weekend work will be necessary, as will a full driving licence and access to transport.

Young Lives vs Cancer fights tirelessly to stop cancer from destroying young lives. We provide social care, grants and free accommodation close to hospitals to help with spiralling costs.

About the role

We provide practical and emotional support to mitigate the impact of a cancer diagnosis and support during their cancer journey via expert needs led interventions. Our Accommodation Service is a key member of the Services and Impact Directorate, you will play a crucial role in providing a high quality and efficient service to children, young people and families diagnosed with cancer.

Our organisation is committed to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults. This role is subject to an Enhanced criminal record check. If successful in application, this role requires an enhanced criminal record check to be completed ahead of starting in the role, together with comprehensive reference checks. A person cannot commence in post without these safeguards. What will I be doing?

We are recruiting a Housekeeper for our Accommodation Service based in Glasgow. As a key member of the Accommodation Services Team, Housekeepers play a crucial role in helping to ensure the Accommodation site/s is/are clean, safe and a welcoming hub for children and young people with cancer and their families. We would love to hear from you if you have: -

• Previous experience of domestic or commercial cleaning and hygiene requirements;
• Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements in relation to the use and storage of cleaning materials and reporting faults and damages
• Experienced in knowing when to communicate with your line manager, i.e. when something does not feel right or if something doesn’t go to plan.
