Glasgow South Carers Centre are commissioned by Glasgow Carers Partnership to deliver support to unpaid Carers living within South Glasgow. The primary focus of this post will be to work with unpaid Carers and Young Carers delivering a range of supports so carers will have the ability to manage their caring responsibilities whilst also maintaining their own

Applicants must have an understanding of and commitment to the needs of carers, have excellent written and oral communication skills, have experience of support planning, providing an information and advice service, planning and delivery of services to support carers, have strong admin, communication and organisational skills and have a knowledge and understanding of the policy drivers for unpaid carers, especially in relation to the Carers Act.

Working alongside a team of Carers Support Workers and directly with Carers, the Adult Carers Support Worker should have a relevant qualification in health or social care and/or work experience appropriate for this post.

Candidates will need an understanding of the issues carers face, experience of outcome focussed case management using person-centred, strength-based support planning to enable Carers to manage their caring role and maintain their own health and wellbeing.

Through free-of-charge rides in pioneering eBike Trishaws - which it introduced into the country - the charity CWAS (Cycling Without Age Scotland) enriches, enhances and extends the lives of some 45,000 beneficiary passengers every year in almost every part of the country and offers its volunteer Trishaw riders fulfilment in a truly unique way. This is about care, commitment and camaraderie. It’s also about the joy of being out and about, benefiting from physical activity, developing intergenerational and community-building relationships and, for riders at any ability level, the pleasure of cycling. CWAS has branches from the Borders to the outer islands and we’re now looking to significantly increase our service in Glasgow through this role, the CWAS Glasgow Development Officer.

The Role

We are now seeking a part-time CWAS Glasgow Development Officer (GDO) who will build and enhance our presence at outstanding locations in the Glasgow area, including Glasgow Botanic Gardens, Pollok Park and the Riverside Museum. This will involve working with a wide range of people and organisations, from volunteers to beneficiary passengers, care facilities and their staff, local private companies, public bodies and other charities etc. The GDO will be guided and supported by the team at CWAS HQ and we’d like them to start as soon as possible. Role Overview

As Dementia Support Coordinator, you will play a central role in coordinating and delivering Town Break’s community-based services, including Town Break at Home and group activities across Forth Valley.

You will act as a key point of contact for people living with dementia and their unpaid carers, coordinating personalised support, facilitating meaningful activities and working closely with partners across health, social care and the third sector.

This is a varied, people-focused role that combines coordination, relationship-building and hands-on support.

About Town Break at Home

Town Break at Home operates Monday to Friday within Forth Valley. The service offers personalised one-to-one support, either at home or out in the community.

Support is shaped around each person’s strengths, interests and goals. This may include social outings, creative activities, gentle physical activity or simply time and space to connect. Frequency of support is agreed through an initial conversation and review process.

Project Workers provide first line management to Assistant Project Workers using established supervision and performance management systems.

They will contribute to the personal development of self and the team of Assistant Project Workers in conjunction with the Team Coordinator/Project Leader. Project Workers will implement agreed systems, procedures and practice for assessments, plans and reviews in conjunction with the Team Coordinator/Project Leader

Knowledge of the role and purpose of a social care worker is desirable for the above post. However full induction and training will be provided including on the SSSC Codes of Practice and the National Care Standards and how this framework applies to your role.

A qualification at SVQ 3 or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards achieving this qualification is essential due to the requirements to register with the SSSC for this post.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the values and attitude required to work with people who are living with mental health problems and who may have complex needs.

Applicants must be able to work flexibly; some early morning, evening and

weekend working may be required.
