The purpose of this role is specifically to develop our community allotment space and other areas of greenspace identified for its growing potential.

In addition, this role will support us to develop further our dignified and collaborative approach to food insecurity working with young people and the community to:

• Grow our food and growing programmes locally.
• Generate interest in and progress in our community allotment space.
• Support the newly created Gorbals Food Network

This role will involve working across the community with young people, families and the wider community.

Whitburn and District Community Development Trust (WCDT) is a community-led organisation at the heart of Whitburn, working to support local people and groups to thrive. Our mission is to create a more connected, confident, and resilient community by delivering local initiatives, encouraging volunteering, and fostering collaboration.

This role is central to delivering our Strengthening Communities Programme funded by the Scottish Government, which aims to build on the strengths of the WCDT by continuing to develop the organisation activities and empowering residents to take an active role in shaping local change. The Community Development Worker will lead on community engagement, support the development of local projects, build partnerships, and amplify the voices of residents. You will help ensure that the Trust continues to reflect the needs, priorities, and aspirations of the people it serves.

About the Lochaber Experience Matters Project

The Lochaber Experience Matters Project aims to engage and empower individuals in Lochaber with lived experiences of mental health challenges. By establishing an Experience Matters Advisory Panel (Ex-MAP), we seek to create a sustainable platform for these voices to influence and improve third-sector services.

The project's objectives are to:

• Community Collaboration: Foster opportunities for people with lived experience to come together and give voice to their support needs.
• Capacity Building: Enhance the ability and confidence of third-sector service providers to engage meaningfully with people with lived experience.
• Co-Design Advocacy: Promote active involvement in the co-design of 3rd sector services, ensuring that community voices shape their delivery and evaluation.

This new Lochaber Experience Matters Project is funded through the Scottish Government’s Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund and builds on the successful Caithness Experience Matters Advisory Panel approach.

Youth 1st is seeking an experienced and motivated Youth Work Manager to lead and manage the B:activ project across Fife. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of young people through active engagement and community-based youth work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery and development of the B:activ project, promoting physical activity, wellbeing and Climate Action among young people across Fife.
• Line manage and support project staff to ensure high-quality youth work practice.
• Work collaboratively with local partners, youth organisations, and communities to extend the project’s reach and impact.
• Meet partnership obligations with Climate Action Fife and BRAG Enterprises NOLB.
• Monitor and evaluate project outcomes, providing regular reports to funders and stakeholders.

We’re looking for a dynamic and organised individual with a strong background in youth work and team leadership. You should be passionate about empowering young people and experienced in developing and delivering youth programmes.
