Background / Context:

Having been operational in Edinburgh and Lothian for many years, Into Work has a long-standing record of successful partnership working and project delivery for disabled people. Due to expansion, we are now looking for suitably experienced and motivated people to join our growing staff team for both our Disabled Adult and Disabled Young People services.

For some people, the idea of being in work or even engaging with employability services, can seem unachievable and quite an unrealistic prospect. To enhance our user experience and encourage engagement, we offer additional in-house wraparound support, including Income Maximisation and Wellbeing input. We really help disabled people take those first vital steps towards making sustainable employment a reality.

Parents/Adults who are neurodivergent/autistic East Lothian -Role Summary:

• Working alongside the supported employment team, you will support an all age parental support service on a 1:1 basis initially, helping people progress along the 5-stage employability pipeline.
• Supporting people into positive destinations such as education, training, volunteering, employment and continued support.
• Supporting people to access our on-line and in-person training with a particular focus on autism tools, techniques and guidance.
• Working with each person to identify the reasonable adjustments they might require that would enhance their employability journey.

Disabled Adults who present with a disability or health condition Edinburgh (Midlothian subject to funding decision) - Role Summary:

Autistic Parents Midlothian Service (post subject to funding decision) - Role Summary:

• Involves working with a caseload of clients on a 1:1 basis, using the 5-stage model of supported employment – focussing mostly on stage 5 referrals.
• Collaborating with Income Maximisation and Wellbeing colleagues to provide wraparound support and ensure a positive employment journey for clients helping people to retain or secure employment.
• Developing working relationships with local organisations to establish appropriate referrals and linking in with employers to promote opportunities.
• Liaising, supporting and negotiation with employers supporting people to enter the workplace and retain their employment.
• Working with each person to identify reasonable adjustments that could make the world or work a more sustainable option.

We are recruiting for part time staff. Our available contracts are:

• Edinburgh: 12 hours per week: Tuesday & Friday
• East Lothian: 18 hours per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, & Friday

Upmo is open Mon-Fri, between the hours of 10-16:00. Shifts are 6 hours per day, for a maximum fulltime hours of 30 per week.

Upmo is a Living Wage Employer; the rate of pay for this role is £12.60 per hour, which is due to increase in line with the new rate.

As a Project Worker, you will be part of an enthusiastic and creative team who provide daily support to adults with learning disabilities and autism as they participate in workshops and activities within our site-based services, and café sites.

We are interested in hearing from individuals with skills and expertise in art, IT, music, drama, dance, photography, gardening, and outdoor activities, as these are the subjects covered in our workshops, so it is beneficial to be familiar with them. Or, if you have any other skills, let us know! A key part of the role involves supporting students in workshops of their choosing, working one to one with students, and facilitating workshops, and supporting people with personal care, as and when required.

While previous experience in care or support is highly advantageous, it is not required as we provide full training and ongoing support to our staff team.

This is a permanent, full-time role within Scran Academy with the core purpose of supporting young people to gain confidence, experience and skills using food and cooking. The successful candidate will help change the lives of young people facing exclusion by supporting them using food and cooking as a vehicle to build skills and confidence. The post holder will support young people from 11+, with core groups aged from 14+, to gain positive experiences

through a blend of group work, vocational training, accreditation, 1-2-1 delivery and outcomes driven youth work. This means that the successful candidate will be expected to inspire and be inspired by young people. Using food, cooking and the professional rigour expected in a kitchen, the post holder will design and deliver engaging sessions that give groups and individuals a strong sense of power and purpose.The post holder will deliver across programmes within Scran, and will report to the Head of Enterprise with oversight from the Academy Programme Lead. A typical week would support delivery in various locations: Mondays, Fridays, and occasional weekends will flexibly support our catering and outreach programmes, either at our café site in Comely Bank, or at various locations from our famous food truck, the Scran Van. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays will be dedicated to co-delivering our Academy and Tutoring programmes in our site at the Gyle.

A full driving license for manual vehicles is essential for this role.
