Forth Valley Sensory Centre (FVSC) is a hub where people with a visual and/or hearing loss and their friends, families, carers and the wider community can access quality services and advice from our Charity and partner organisations.

We are looking for a new Development Manager who can identify and , develop new outreach opportunities and expand what we already offer across Forth Valley.

This will be a great position for someone with proven management experience, who is looking to develop themselves under the direct guidance of the CEO. The successful candidate will be a “people person” who communicates effectively internally and externally, with compassion, motivation and the ability to positively influence others.

The Organisation

Forth Valley Sensory Centre is a hub for people with a visual or hearing loss where they and their friends, families, carers, and the wider community can access quality services and advice from partner organisations. The Centre was the first of its kind constructed in the UK and specifically developed for the sensory impaired community.

The Centre provides an array of bespoke services, moulded by end users and their requests of what is most important to them. From digital support to meeting spaces, a sensory garden, café as well as over 30 groups and classes and more- there are never two days the same in The Centre.

The Role

As the Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in identifying growth opportunities, building partnerships and showcasing the services that FVSC can provide on an outreach basis. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategies, creating awareness, and promoting the organisation to communities throughout Forth Valley.

This role requires a blend of internal and external relationship building, strong communication skills and management. To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate experience in leading a team and be able to prepare and present information in accessible formats to engage individuals who could benefit from FVSC services. Communication skills are a vital part of this role, in conjunction with being compassionate, collaborative and inclusive in your approach.

Western Isles Rape Crisis Centre is looking to recruit an experienced support worker to join our team. The overall aim of the post is to provide one-to-one support to survivors of sexual violence.

For this role we are open to discussing the possibility of reduced hours, flexible start and finish times, or compressed hours.

A clean driving licence and use of own car is essential to this post.

We are looking for a Forth Valley based Pathways Coordinator, to work in partnership with the current MCR team, young people, mentors, school and college partners

About the role:

You will be an integral part of the school and college community across Forth Valley as well as the wider MCR team. You will be the key person delivering the MCR programme to young people across Forth Valley College supporting young people to sustain their destination.

Key responsibilities:

• Helping to build exceptional individual relationships with the current schools team, young people and mentors to support transitions to Forth Valley College
• Facilitate the MCR Programme across Forth Valley College to offer enhanced support to young people to sustain post school destinations
• Play a key role in supporting young people and mentors across Forth Valley schools and within the local community
• Helping to drive volunteer mentor recruitment
• Consistently supporting, actively engaging and motivating mentors from training through the length of their engagement with the programme. Actively support MCR young people to set, experience then follow their post school pathways.
• Work in partnership with the MCR Team, Skills Development Scotland, Widening Access Colleagues, schools and other key partners
• Evidence progression, impact and best practice with YP input, quantitative feedback and qualitative case studies

About you:

• Exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships with young people, education colleagues, volunteer mentors, key partners and local employers
• Awareness and understanding of the principles of safeguarding and child and young adult protection
• Ability and confidence to present programme information and deliver prepared training sessions to groups
• Ability to work well on own initiative, as part of a team and on a flexible basis in response to young person and organisational need
• An understanding of the challenges and barriers that care-experienced and/or vulnerable young people and young adults may encounter
• Experience or a knowledge of processes to document and evidence good practice and positive outcomes.

You may have experience as a Youth, Community or Advice Worker. You will be an empathetic person who is open minded, non-judgemental, resilient and who is driven to improve outcomes for care experienced and other vulnerable young people.

About Forth Valley Perinatal Service

Aberlour has always seen the benefit of early intervention and are pleased to have received funding from Scottish Government for a Service Manager and 4 new posts to work across Forth Valley supporting new parents pre and post birth. By working alongside new parents, we aim to facilitate recovery from problematic substance use and improve parenting capacity and confidence to positively impact on the outcomes for both parents and their new babies.

The service will work across 7 days per week operating within the hours of 8am to 8pm to flexibly meet the needs of the parents and families being supported. The work will cover prebirth to baby's first birthday offering strength based whole family support.

What we are looking for....

We are seeking to recruit four Intensive Perinatal Support Workers, each working 37.5 hours per week. Initial funding from Scottish Government is secured until March 2026, however with successful outcomes we are hopeful that this specialised work would be extended further. We are looking for candidates with a sound knowledge of child development and experience of working with individuals with problematic substance and/or alcohol use.

We encourage people to apply who have lived experience of alcohol or drug use, with a minimum of 2 years living in recovery, free from all drug use and problem drinking.
