Since 2003, Lanarkshire Deaf Hub has been dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive environment, fostering a thriving space where deaf communities across Lanarkshire can connect, communicate, and collaborate. After 21 years, we have a new development strategy in the pipeline to transform our organisation into a dynamic hub of activities. Your contribution will be vital in delivering innovative programmes, projects, and services that address the diverse needs of deaf communities across Lanarkshire.
We seek a skilled part-time Project Worker to join our team for 18 hours weekly, focusing on our Inclusive Carer Breather for Deaf Parents and Families Project. This project will provide meaningful breaks and tailored support for deaf parents in North Lanarkshire who care for children and adults with diverse needs and underlying health conditions / long-term conditions. The candidate will play a vital role in planning, implementing, and evaluating this project, significantly impacting deaf communities.
The project, crucial for you, aims to offer meaningful breaks and tailored support for deaf parents in North Lanarkshire caring for children, young people, and adults with diverse needs and health conditions. Your role will impact these individuals by providing respite, training, emotional support, advocacy, and financial guidance.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the health, mental health and wellbeing of deaf parents and families in North Lanarkshire. The role offers the chance to develop and implement innovative solutions, and to make a significant impact on both deaf communities and people’s lives. This role requires a flexible approach to working evenings and weekends.
Additional information – The North Lanarkshire Carers Together Carer Breather Fund will fund this Inclusive Carer Breather for Deaf Parents and Families Project until Friday 31 March 2028 (three years project funding).
