The Edinburgh Liddell Community is undergoing a period of growth, expansion and change in the delivery of its caring services, following an exciting 2024, where we recognised and celebrated the life, sporting and community achievements of one of Scotland’s iconic figures, Eric Liddell.

With support and investment from Impact Funding Partners, we are recruiting for a Volunteer Coordinator to build on Westfield Park Community Centre’s (WPCC) volunteer engagement strategy with the local community. The post will be responsible for volunteer recruitment needed to support the development of a programme of activities and events and to meet the needs of the local community.

The position is 20 hours per week, with a degree of flexibility and incorporating occasional evening and weekend work. Salary at full time equivalent is £24,000 on a fixed term 1 year contract. WPCC offers 29 days Annual leave and will include 2 fixed public holidays. The organisation contributes equivalent to 6% of the post’s salary into the pension scheme.

The Volunteer Coordinator will contribute to the day-to-day management and smooth running of WPCC, ensuring that WPCC is a vibrant, welcoming and well managed facility that operates for the benefit of the local community and the residents of the Falkirk District area.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate relevant experience in recruiting, training and supporting volunteers and have a very good understanding of community development and challenges facing local communities. Relevant experience of the third sector would be beneficial.

As a Corporate Fundraiser you will work as part of the corporate team to develop and implement a corporate partnership fundraising strategy and create and maintain a pipeline of corporate activities.

This will include managing our existing partnerships to ensure they generate maximum impact and developing and maintaining a mix of new partnerships including transformational and strategic partnerships, charity of the year and sponsorship in order to meet fundraising targets.

The post will be Scotland-based, a blend of office (Edinburgh-based) and home working. As a hybrid role the intention is that office based and external facing work will constitute 40% of working time over each month. We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled, self-motivated finance professional to join our successful charity and take the lead on our finance function during a maternity leave period of up to one year. This role is ideal for a highly capable individual with strong accounting expertise who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to make a meaningful impact.

As Finance Manager, you will oversee all aspects of financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data and reporting. Your responsibilities will include managing day-to-day finance activities, preparing fully accrued monthly management accounts for the board, and producing a trial balance with supporting evidence for the annual audit. You will also collaborate with external auditors to meet reporting requirements.

Additionally, you will manage payroll, oversee pension contributions and salary sacrifice schemes, and contribute to HR systems and records. You will work closely with departmental managers and the Finance Assistant to ensure effective credit control and financial administration.
