To oversee all aspects of the Hamilton District Foodbank operation and ensure alignment to the agreed operating model as follows:

• Recruiting volunteers including interviews, reference checks, disclosure checks (as required), and obtaining signed confidentiality / GDPR agreements
• Recruiting and supporting Duty Co-ordinators
• Organising and facilitating volunteer training
• Ensuring that all volunteers adhere to the confidentiality agreement
• Ensuring that the Foodbank meets Health and Safety standards
• Ensuring that the Foodbank meets Environmental Health standards
• Developing, maintaining and ensuring compliance to policies and procedures (e.g. Safeguarding)
• Maintaining awareness of the benefit system and any changes to it, and understanding and responding to the impact of those changes on the Foodbank operation and future plans

West Lothian Foodbank has been providing emergency food parcels to those in the community most in need since 2012. West Lothian Foodbank is a local organisation which collaborates with people across the county, supporting anyone who doesn’t have enough money to afford the essentials. We provide emergency food to those who are hungry or at risk of hunger. The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to help West Lothian Foodbank realise its vision to end the need for Foodbanks and poverty in West Lothian. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Charity Fundraiser. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing fundraising campaigns and events to generate financial support for our organization. You will proactively create and grow fundraising income opportunities with individuals, corporate partners, grant-giving trusts and foundations, and community groups. You will be at the heart of our local community, bringing our cause to life and building lasting donor relationships.

Through your fundraising expertise, you will have a proven history of building relationships with corporate partners, individuals and other donors to achieve and exceed annual income targets and KPI’s. You will have demonstrable experience in creating and crafting compelling proposals and appeals that successfully engage and attract donations from new and existing supporters.

The main focus of this new role is to grow and develop supporter relationships that secure the longer-term sustainability of Glenrothes Foodbank through grants, corporate donations and sponsorships.

This role would be suited to someone with strong written communication skills and relationship building skills who is driven and well organised.

Key responsibilities

Relationship development

• Respond positively and professionally to supporter enquiries
• Identify and research funders
• Build and maintain relationships with funders
• Make applications to funders ranging from letters to small family trusts to large grants or statutory body bids.
• Ensure funding bid and reporting deadlines are adhered to and maintain productive relationships with all funders
• Report on performance and social outcomes
• Actively promote and encourage fundraising activity within the community
• Represent Glenrothes Foodbank at fundraising and networking events as required

Fundraising Strategy

• Work closely with the Foodbank Manager to establish fundraising targets and strategy
• Support the development of a calendar of fundraising events
• Lead the development of supporter communications to effectively engage with all areas of the community across all channels including digital media
• Ensure compliance with all regulations, codes of practice and best practice in the sector
• Positively represent Glenrothes Foodbank and its work at events, meetings and strive to increase awareness of the organisations work and need for support

Person Specification

Essential:

• Experience of working in a fundraising role
• Experience of securing funds/contracts
• Experience of developing and submitting successful written applications
• Excellent written and face to face communication skills and the ability to connect with a range of different people
• Able to support and contribute in a committed and diverse team
• Ability to manage time effectively including working to tight deadlines
• Computer literacy with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• A record of creating and maintaining relationships with funders.

Desirable:

• Experience within the charity voluntary sector
• Understanding of GDPR and compliance re data handling
• Understanding of the causes and factors contributing to food insecurity and food poverty, and the need for crisis and more than food responses
• Knowledge of the funding landscape across Scotland

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen at Perth and Kinross Foodbank for a Foodbank Operations Manager role. Based at our York Place premises, the Operations Manager will be responsible for leading the day to day running of the service, ensuring individuals and families experiencing hunger and hardship across Perth and Kinross have access to

practical support and emergency food.

In the face of increasing levels of demand, the Operations Manager will lead the workforce (both paid staff and volunteers), ensuring our people are clear on, and are supported to, deliver their respective roles which collectively contribute to our organisational vision and mission. The postholder will complement the work of the Foodbank Manager to forage a positive, proactive workplace rooted in compassion, justice, dignity, collaboration and an assets-based approach to community development. We are seeking a candidate who is committed to curiosity, continuous improvement, empowerment of others and can demonstrate solution focused creativity and adaptability.

Aside from an experienced people manager, our ideal candidate will be accountable for IT and systems management, operational finances –including the daily processing of transactions, management of petty cash and donations - and the ownership of departmental budgets. We are also looking for someone who has a full and current Driver’s license to support with operations when required.

Perth and Kinross Foodbank is on an evolutionary journey of transformation.
