Young Person Outreach Worker

  • Fixed-term, 9 months. 2 days a week, with the potential to increase to full-time based on current funding applications. We welcome flexible working arrangements and encourage applicants who may need adjustments or are returning to work.

Role

We are looking for a passionate and proactive Young People Outreach Worker to engage with disabled young people and their families, gathering insights to inform the future design of our services. You will lead engagement activities, build meaningful relationships, and create inclusive spaces for young people to share their experiences and shape services that meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with disabled young people and families.
  • Facilitate workshops, events, and outreach activities.
  • Amplify young people's voices within GCIL and with external stakeholders.
  • Gather and analyse qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Contribute to project reports and recommendations for future services.

About You:

You’ll bring experience in engaging with disabled and/or young people, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to inclusion and empowerment. You will have:

  • Experience delivering services for disabled people and /or young people.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant policy and rights-based approaches.
  • Digital skills to enhance engagement and communication.
  • A self-motivated, results-focused approach with integrity and a commitment to challenging discrimination.
