Role
SFHA is the membership body for, and collective voice of, housing associations and co operatives in Scotland. Our members collectively provide safe, warm affordable rented homes for around half a million people. We exist to represent, support and connect our members.
We are now looking for a Policy Lead to help us understand the issues our members are facing and work to find solutions. Although you’ll work flexibly across policy areas where needed, you’ll have a particular focus on issues around developing new homes, and building safety and maintenance, and are likely to have experience in one or both of these areas.
Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll organise our engagement with members in these areas, develop policy, create reports, briefings and consultation responses, represent SFHA externally and build strong relationships with our members.
Scotland is facing a housing emergency, and our members are a crucial part of tackling it. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a job that really matters.

We have a great opportunity for the right person to join our small team. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated person to join us as Business Services Assistant to actively contribute to SFHA’s success by supporting all Business Functions. Experience in the social housing sector is not an essential requirement of this post but ideally you should be able to demonstrate the ability to work in an office environment.

We are looking for a high performing individual to join our Management Team, with responsibility for leading the:
- delivery of projects aligned with our strategic priorities;
- co-ordination of core internal/external services, performance, and stakeholder communication;
- development of comprehensive and accurate records, reporting and administrative systems that demonstrate compliance with legislative and regulatory standards, reflecting best practice and mitigating risk;
The ideal candidate will be further educated to SCQF Level 9 or above and/or will have significant demonstrable experience of RSL reporting requirements or if operating out with the RSL sector will have relevant experience of quality management /performance excellence frameworks. The ideal candidate will also have accomplished ICT reporting and presenting skills, high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Key Tasks:
1. Assembling and leading teams to ensure delivery of projects aligned to strategic priorities.
2. Developing robust performance management frameworks.
3. Actively contributing to policy and strategy development, including Equality Impact Assessment and compliance self-assessments.
4. Monitoring and reporting on policy/procedural compliance extending to General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and Freedom of Information.
5. Coordinating, analysing and presenting performance and compliance reports across all functions.
6. Ensuring accurate and timely completion of regulatory returns (including the Annual Return on the Charter).
7. Scrutinising and validating performance data & statistics.
8. Liaising with Teams to identify and implement process efficiencies.
9. Ensuring appropriate performance bench-marking.

You will work closely with the CEO and Co-ordinator team overseeing the smooth running of the Scottish Parent Academy as well as oversight to finance team.
You will oversee and develop the smooth running of existing systems and processes, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency.
You will support the development of our CRM system, including preparation of data as well as project management support. You will have experience in prioritising workload of others, strong leadership skills, database management and reporting, and using Microsoft Office suite and other IT packages. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills are also required to thrive in this role.
As this is a national post, we are looking for someone who can work independently and quickly develop strong working relationships, as well as having excellent organisational and time management skills.
This role is for 12 months (probation 6 months) and will continue dependent on funding.

Your experience and networks within the Scottish not-for-profit and business communities will ensure you can act as innovator, business developer and ambassador for the organisation.
In this role you will be responsible for leading the development and continued transformation of Impact Funding Partners, devising, redeveloping and implementing the Organisation’s strategy.
A key aspect of the role is the design and delivery of a diversified new service set, and you will work closely with the Board to ensure innovation is balanced with pragmatism.
