By joining Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS) as a Volunteering officer (Recruitment) you can be the difference between people just surviving and really living.
You will be part of Scotland’s leading health charity providing support to people with chest, heart and stroke conditions and Long Covid to live life to the full again. Our Community Healthcare Support Service provides access to a range of supported self management and community recovery services to support people across Scotland to manage their health as well as possible and adjust to life after a diagnosis of a chest or heart condition or after a stroke.
Our No Life Half Lived strategy outlines our belief that every person with our conditions should have access to quality supported self-management and community recovery. The aims of our strategy are ambitious – to reach and support 175,000 people in Scotland per year by 2028.
To achieve this, it is vital that we significantly grow our volunteer numbers, building on our existing network of thousands of volunteers across Scottish communities.
By joining us a Volunteering Officer (Recruitment), you be will integral to the recruitment of volunteers throughout Scotland - whether that’s through targeted marketing campaigns, social and digital media, Third Sector Interfaces (TSI) or engagement with local community groups.
With declining participation rates, volunteer recruitment has never been more competitive. We are looking for someone who can meet this challenge with drive and determination
You will be responsible for responding to queries from volunteers and volunteer managers, acting as a point of contact for corporate and community partners, running information sessions and coordinating attendance at recruitment fairs.
You will also support our Volunteering Recruitment Lead to ensure that our recruitment processes are as inclusive as possible, identifying and breaking down barriers to volunteering.
We are looking for someone organised with excellent attention to detail – who can keep our volunteering opportunities up to date across multiple platforms and produce and circulate regular recruitment analytic reports.
Core to this role is also great communication skills, with the ability to connect others to CHSS mission and vision and inspire them to take action across a range of mediums, including online (social media and website content) and in-person.
The role holder will work in a blended manner, working from our Edinburgh office and their home.
