The primary function of this role is the effective management and delivery of the organisation’s Edinburgh, East & South service delivery and development activities. Leading our service teams to ensure that we provide quality services and are reaching our funder and organisational targets. This key management role will support the Head of Services to implement strategy, ensuring that regulatory standards are met, and policies and procedures are implemented. Part of a highly collaborative team, the Service Manager reports directly to the Head of Services and works alongside the rest of the management team.

This exciting and new role within the Rock Trust involves contributing to the new National Upstream project (homelessness prevention model).

Upstream is an innovative schools-based preventive model that utilises a universal screening tool to identify and support students at risk of homelessness.

The role requires skills inclusive of excellent communication skills, the ability to establish and nurture key partnerships and relationships with stakeholders, work directly with young people to provide emotional and practical support on a 1:1 basis in schools, at home and/or within the community.

Additionally, you will be digitally proficient in the use of Apps and IT with the ability to analyse and interpret data to identify young people who may require support, in collaboration with stakeholders.

About the service

Our Wellbeing Works service is a new offering that aims to provide support for people with mild to moderate mental health conditions to empower them to develop a pathway to employment.

About the role

This role will be pivotal in creating trusted relationships with both clients and partner organisations to ensure that each pathway to employment is unique to individual clients and designed to reach the best possible outcome. Your main duties will include:

• Meeting clients to identify a support action plan; and regular follow-up sessions to review their progress
• Facilitate workshops and intervention sessions that provide participants with skills and mechanisms to better manage their mental health and improve wellbeing
• Working alongside various partner organisations to access additional support and opportunities
• Monitoring and evaluating the uptake and impact of the service

It is a role that provides the opportunity to work with people who have complex problems and to make a real difference to their lives.

About you

You will have experience supporting people with mental health conditions and be motivated to empower people on their employability journey. You should also have:

• Excellent relationship building skills
• Proven experience of building and maintaining strong partnerships with relevant services
• A commitment to reducing the stigma faced by people with mental health conditions

You will have a supportive manager who will provide the space of regular supervision sessions and development conversations to ensure that your wellbeing is protected, and you are set up for success.

Fresh Start provides support to people moving on from or those at risk of homelessness. Fresh Start has been active in Edinburgh for over 25 years with a mission to help people make a home for themselves.

Fresh Start offer a range of services to people either at the transition from homelessness or those who are risk of homelessness. We provide people with the provision of household starter packs, white goods, painting and decorating services. Via our community hub we offer a wide range of services including: cooking, community pantry and shop, growing spaces, provision of advice, information and support.

We are looking for a team player who would like to work supporting our delivery teams in the essential role of Admin and Finance Assistant. You will be the first person many people speak to at Fresh Start, so we are looking for someone who is friendly, approachable and has a keen attention to detail.

Fresh Start is a small charity and a flexible approach and the ability to multi-task is essential. A good team player who can also work on their own initiative and be pro-active is required for this role.
