Almond Enterprises Limited (AEL) is seeking Board Members from candidates with a keen interest in driving the strategic direction and growth of the organisation to maximise its benefit to the local community. This is a voluntary role with no financial remuneration however travel expenses will be reimbursed.

AEL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Almond Housing Association, and is an established social enterprise, working for over fifteen years to provide cleaning and environmental services throughout West Lothian. The parent company, Almond HA owns over 2,500 properties, 655 garages, and delivers a factoring service for 176 properties.

Much has been achieved by AEL since its inception, however we recognise that it has the ability and resources to do much more. As a subsidiary of Almond HA, it has the ability to deliver real impact within the community and to assist the parent company in achieving the aims of its community impact strategy.

The subsidiary receives support from the Almond HA Board and senior management team. Almond HA delivers large programmes of planned and cyclical maintenance works and there is significant opportunity for AEL to deliver additional workstreams. We are also keen to create training and employability opportunities for our local communities. AEL is a Real Living Wage employer, and it is proposed that as the scope of services increase the terms and conditions offered to the team will be enhanced.

Having recently appointed a new Chair of the AEL Board, the role of Board member represent an exciting opportunity to help lead AEL through a period of significant growth as it looks to realise its significant potential and increase its considerable positive impact within West Lothian. Ideally, we are looking for individuals with an appetite and drive to help AEL increase its activity and range of services. Previous experience as a Board member is not required as induction and training will be provided. The Board currently meets remotely 3 times each year and once in person – in the early evening.

Atrium Homes, based in Kilmarnock, is a Registered Social Landlord and Scottish Charity providing social housing to over 1,200 households; factoring services are provided to Atrium Homes by its subsidiary as well as to over 1,400 owners.

Collectively, the Board is responsible for exercising scrutiny, establishing organisational strategy and objectives and for monitoring operational performance, and we are currently looking to strengthen our overall governance through the appointment of a small number of Board Members.

We are always looking out for new Board members to help us achieve the right mix of skills and experience to match our business needs. Skills and knowledge that we would love to see further represented on our Board just now include an experienced Finance Professional or a business leader interested in the work of social landlords.

Equally, we are always very keen to attract people who have had experience of our services as customers and who are committed to helping us improve those services.

All positions are voluntary but reasonable expenses to facilitate attendance at meetings will be paid. Induction and further training will also be provided.

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced highly motivated individual to join our Tenancy Team in the post of Services Officer. As Services Officer you will take charge of processing tenancy management requests, handle rent collection and recovery and support the wider team in the delivery of all tenancy services functions.

The successful candidate will have a relevant housing qualification and/or relevant experience, have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, be performance driven, excellent communication and multi-tasking skills, and demonstrate a high level of customer service.

A summary of key tasks include:

1. Responsibility for all tenancy frontline services, within delegated authority levels
2. Processing tenancy management requests (joint tenancy, permission to reside, assignation, sub-lets) in accordance with policy/procedures
3. Implementing rent collection/recovery procedures to preparation of compliance sheets/NOPFROP
4. Liaising with Sheriff Officers and attending tenancy recovery
5. Liaising with tenants and other relevant agencies regarding rent collection/recovery (e.g. Trustees/CAB etc)
6. Supporting the Services Team in the delivery of all tenancy service functions including anti-social behaviour, managing tenancy terminations, housing allocations and tenancy sign ups.
7. Participation in reporting and contribution to ARC and other corporate returns and publications.
8. Supporting the delivery of Corporate Plan and Team initiatives and representing the Association at Events.

Govanhill Community Development Trust promotes the social, economic and environmental regeneration of Govanhill. We do this through the provision of affordable workspaces locally and a programme of community development activity. We are a wholly-owned subsidiary of Govanhill Housing Association – a community controlled Registered Social Landlord operating in the Govanhill and Merrylee areas of Glasgow. The Association owns and manages 2,800 homes and provides a Factoring Service to a further 1,400 owners. It has a substantial Development, Major Repairs and Planned Maintenance Programme and delivers wider regeneration activity in partnership with Govanhill Community Development Trust.

We are seeking a dynamic individual to support people looking for work by providing employability advice and assisting them to access opportunities for volunteering, work placements and training.

Central to the role will be support for a caseload of individuals at different stages of work readiness. Many local residents face additional barriers to work and so a flexible and creative approach will be required. As well as individual action planning, the postholders will support individuals with job search, CV building, job applications and interview techniques. They will also provide some in-work support and engage with local employers and organisations to identify opportunities. Postholders will also work with colleagues in GCDT and Govanhill Housing Association to ensure that a full package of support can be put in place for local people to improve their education, health, housing, awareness of local services and social connections. A positive, team-based approach will therefore be required with a focus on providing high quality standards of service.

This is a new role which is initially funded to end March 2026 but with the possibility of extension for two further years. The postholders will be joining a supportive and dynamic team of community-based workers who are committed to improving the quality of life for local people.
