Early Years Scotland (EYS) is a prominent organisation dedicated to supporting children from pre-birth to age five. With nearly 60 years of expertise, EYS delivers family-focused sessions in communities most in need, providing vital resources to improve the wellbeing and development of young children and their families.

On a path of growth, EYS is looking to appoint a Business Development and Impact Officer to lead and launch its social enterprise, manage impact evaluation, and communicate achievements. This pivotal role will drive income-generating activities to fund free community-based programmes, ensuring every child in Scotland has the best possible start in life. At EYS, relationships are highly valued, with staff actively engaged in making a difference through teamwork and collaboration.

The Role

Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, the Business Development and Impact Officer will play a key role in growing, launching and sustaining its social enterprise, developing services and programmes. The role will involve developing partnerships, advocate for meaningful community initiatives, and measuring and communicating project impact through data analysis and storytelling.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the third sector, particularly in social enterprise, community impact or similar fields, and demonstrate strong skills in impact evaluation, data analysis, communication, and stakeholder management.

We are looking for a go-getter with ambition, able to be proactive, organised, and innovative. Incredible relationship-building skills is also key, balanced with the ability to deliver high-quality reports, managing multiple projects, and driving initiatives that align with Early Years Scotland’s mission and objectives.

What you’ll need to be successful

The postholder will be the volunteering team lead on the strategic and cross-organisational approach to volunteer communications and engagement, ensuring our volunteers feel connected and committed to Victim Support Scotland and have the information and updates they need to carry out their roles. This involves acting as a source of expertise around volunteer communications and engagement and being a key enabler of engagement initiatives. For example, the postholder will keep up to date with innovative practice around volunteer engagement and retention, making recommendations to colleagues about new approaches, driving forward key programmes and projects such as Volunteers’ Week and advising and empowering colleagues and stakeholders to value and recognise volunteers. Alongside these responsibilities, the postholder will work closely with other members of the volunteering team on shared ongoing responsibilities within the team. These include the delivery of our volunteering strategy, the recruitment and induction of volunteers, and supporting the onboarding and offboarding of volunteers.

The ideal candidate will be used to working independently as well as part of a team and be able to demonstrate experience of managing a challenging workload in a busy environment to meet deadlines. The postholder will be the volunteering team lead on a people driven, strategic and cross-organisational approach to learning and development for both our volunteers and volunteer line managers. This role ensures that VSS volunteers and the staff who manage and support them have the skills and knowledge they need to carry out their roles. Acting as a source of expertise, the postholder will be up to date with current theories and practice relating to learning and development. They will drive forward key programmes such as a review of our learning and development offer for volunteers, contribute to the delivery of VSS current volunteer learning and development programme and advise and support colleagues and stakeholders around learning. Alongside these responsibilities, the postholder will work closely with other members of the volunteering team on shared ongoing responsibilities within the team. These include the delivery of our volunteering strategy, the recruitment and induction of volunteers, and supporting the onboarding and offboarding of volunteers.

Child Bereavement UK helps families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies.

We support children and young people (up to the age of 25) when someone important to them has died or is not expected to live, and parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying.

We provide training to professionals in health and social care, education, and the voluntary and corporate sectors, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families.

Child Bereavement UK has an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to lead on the provision, evaluation and ongoing development of a Scotland-wide Bereavement Support Service that ensures families and professionals can access high-quality bereavement support when a baby or child has died, or when children or young people are bereaved. The Bereavement Support Service Lead will also support the strategic development of the Charity’s services in Scotland.

In this role you will:

• Lead/manage/contribute to and further develop the provision of a blended model of bereavement support across Scotland
• Provide training, consultancy, and support for professionals whose work brings them into contact with bereaved families
• To collaborate with partners to develop bereavement support services across Scotland.
• To support Child Bereavement UK’s Fundraising Team in the generation of sustainable income to fund our Scottish operations, providing information and data to support applications and reporting.

A regular presence at our offices in Finnieston, Glasgow will be required initially, once established hybrid working is available.
