Role

ScrapAntics is a thriving social enterprise with 4 full time staff, 15 part time staff and 20 volunteers.

We have a ScrapStore, a busy community space utilised by around 150-200 participants a week, and support 21 artists in our studios. We offer a range of activities for the community including youth clubs, art and craft sessions, play sessions, cooking, gardening, social groups, cycling, football and large scale family celebrations.

ScrapAntics welcomes everyone but we prioritise those who face challenges through disadvantage, including people with mental and physical health issues and those from the asylum seeker, refugee and international community. We are very much women led and focused on sustainability and putting people and planet before profit.

We require an experienced manager with knowledge of the third sector and a passion for social justice to help coordinate and run the organisation. We are seeking someone with a creative approach and ‘out the box’ thinking, who is adaptable to change and can think on their feet! It is also essential that whoever leads our team has a non judgemental approach and engages well with a diverse group of people.

Job Purpose:

  • To support ScrapAntics’ CEO in the running of the organisation
  • To support and coordinate the team - maintaining a positive and cohesive working environment
  • To manage, document and lead multiple projects
  • Internal and external communications and all associated admin duties
  • Collaborating on funding applications and reporting as part of the management team

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Project management of commissioned projects
  • Internal communications within the team - distributing information, answering questions, carrying out supervisions and being available for support
  • Communicating and liaising with external partners and organisations including Dundee City Council and national organisations, ensuring positive relationships are maintained and information is shared
  • Creating and collaborating on funding applications and project reporting
  • Attending and facilitating organisational meetings; taking minutes and distributing these as appropriate
  • Creating and updating/maintaining booking schedules and staff rotas
  • Maintaining an overview of larger projects and supporting the project leads to deliver to budget and timescale
  • Handling enquiries and taking bookings for activities, play sessions, workshops and space rental
  • Creating and maintaining budget spreadsheets
  • Maintaining a general overview of ScrapAntics organisational running and communicating changes and issues to ScrapAntics’ CEO

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • Experience of working in a thriving third sector organisation
  • Passion for sustainability, community and social justice
  • Positive leadership skills and experience of managing a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a welcoming, friendly and helpful manner
  • High level of IT and written skills
  • Project management experience
  • Experience of applying for and reporting on funding
  • Experience of working with spreadsheets
