What is Ochil Tower School?
Today, Ochil Tower School is a thriving educational and residential community, where 27 children and young people, aged 8-21, with special and complex additional support needs live, learn and grow together. The School, set in seven acres of stunning Perthshire countryside, provides excellent care and education and is not short on ambition.
In October 2018, it opened a new Life Skills Centre. This facility is for young adults aged 18 – 21 and is designed to help them so that they are better prepared for the challenges of living an independent adult life by developing their skills in learning, life and work. OTS is now focussed on extending the residential provision to 52 weeks. This is already being provided to eight young people with plans in place for this to be extended to all young people residing in the school January 2023. The Board of Trustees have a commitment to further enhancing and developing their residential houses and plans to build new educational facilities for the school.
We are now seeking aHouse Managerto lead our residential houses and provide exceptional care and support to our young people. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the overall wellbeing and development of children and young adults within a collaborative and values-driven community.
What will you do as House Manager?
As House Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a residential house, ensuring that all aspects of care and support are delivered to the highest standards in accordance with Health and Social Care Standards and SSSC codes of practice. This is a role that will be good for the soul, by giving meaning and self-worth to those within the School.
Key responsibilities include:
Leadership & Teamwork- Lead and inspire a collaborative care team, developing a positive, team-driven approach to meet the needs of children and the school community.
Support for Young People- Ensure children's wellbeing by involving them in decision-making and providing personalised care for their development and independence.
Collaboration & Communication- Build strong relationships with young people, parents, staff, and stakeholders, ensuring open communication and prompt resolution of issues.
Organisation & Problem-Solving- Efficiently manage multiple tasks, maintain high care standards, and confidently address challenges with a calm, solutions-focused approach.
What do we need from you?
- Qualifications:
- HNC Social Care or equivalent.
- ORSVQ 4 Social Services at SCQF Level 9 (Children & Young People), with a willingness to work towards the Leadership and Management Award Level 10.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in a senior or assistant management role within a social care setting, ideally working with children and/or young people with additional support needs. We are also open minded to individuals looking to step up.
- Experience in leading and developing a team of care staff.
- A sound understanding of safeguarding and the ability to work within regulatory frameworks.

- Excellent Communication Skills- A confident and clear communicator, able to express concerns and ideas comfortably to young people, parents, and colleagues.
- Empathy & Compassion- A caring and empathetic approach to working with children and young adults. Ability to understand the underlying needs of young people and respond appropriately.
- Problem-Solving & Flexibility- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think laterally and creatively. You should be able to adapt to changing circumstances and develop solutions that meet the needs of the children, care team, and wider school community.
- Organisational Skills- Highly organised with the ability to multitask and delegate effectively in a fast-moving environment.
- Commitment to Values- Demonstrate a commitment to upholding and promoting the values of Ochil Tower School.

We are looking for a Treasurer to join our Board of Directors to help us with our ambitious plans for the future.
This is an unpaid position with a time commitment of four in person board meetings a year (in the evenings 5-7pm) and monthly meetings with the MD (can be online)
Who are we?
The Super Power Agency works with Scotland’s most disadvantaged and under-resourced young people to increase writing skills. Our creative writing workshops make learning fun, and our writing mentors instil confidence. We encourage pupils to put pen to paper, build their writing skills and express themselves .
Founded in 2016, the SPA has worked with more than 5,000 young people. The organisation follows a tried and tested model started in America, 826 National, which has since been adopted by more than 50 organisations worldwide.
We have worked with more than 50 primary and high schools in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dunfermline, Musselburgh, Peebles, and Clackmannanshire. We also work with community organisations and have conducted our programmes at the Borders Book Festival, Edinburgh International Book Festival and the National Library of Scotland.
Who are you?
The Board supports the work of the Super Power Agency and provides mission-based leadership and strategic governance. While day-to-day operations are led by the Managing Director, the Board-MD relationship is a partnership, and the appropriate involvement of the Board is both critical and expected.
We currently have 11 board members who bring a breadth of experience and expertise, and are looking for a Treasurer with experience in financial management, accounting or similar. You will work closely with the MD and accountant to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organisation.
Alongside the MD you will:
- Help maintain financial records
- Help prepare quarterly management accounts
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations
- Provide financial advice to the MD and board
- Monitor budgets and cashflow

Established in 2018, Moray Rape Crisis provides specialist therapeutic support, information and advocacy for young people and adults of all genders, aged 11 and over, in the Moray area, who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives, including rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse and sexual exploitation. We also work directly with young people in schools and youth settings, and with strategic partners, towards preventing sexual violence.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Support and Development Lead to join our team. The post-holder will provide day-to-day coordination of our support and advocacy services for survivors of sexual violence, aged 11 and over. The role includes the provision of high-quality line management and supervision for support workers and volunteers, and the direct support of a small caseload of survivors.

The Role
You will be the Registered Manager for our Care Inspectorate registered on-site Nursery, as well as leading on specific interventions for primary school aged children, and have the opportunity to deliver parenting interventions of the wider programme while working in conjunction with the Therapeutic and Care Team.
Your role is full time, based on-site, working Monday to Friday from 9 to 5 (37.5 hours per week).
The nursery runs from the hours of 9:15am to 4pm, and your team of 8 Childcare staff will carry out various hours including 8:30am start to support school runs, and evening/weekend hours to offer wider support to our families.
About You
You will be an experienced childcare practitioner and leader, displaying a positive and motivational attitude to helping children and their families as a whole to develop. You will assist in promoting openness, trusting, positive relationships with all individuals accessing the service. You will require a deep understanding of regulations, educational requirements, health and safety, safeguarding, child protection and experience in helping children accessing our support to develop, learn and grow.
A formal qualification in Early Learning and Childcare (for example BA Childhood Studies, PDA, or equivalent)
An understanding of parental substance use, mental health, trauma, and whole family approaches
A background in leadership role within a childcare setting
Knowledge of Care Inspectorate standards
Knowledge of early years curriculum and willingness to keep up to date with current practice

The Service
Harper House, National Specialist Family Service is based in Saltcoats, North Ayrshire, and offers safe, structured support for the whole family to address their problematic drug and/or alcohol use, improve their mental health and quality of life.
Harper House offers 12-24 weeks programs during which parents will be engaging with a recovery program based on the Therapeutic Community model. During this time, nursery aged children will be supported in our one-of-a-kind on-site Nursery, and school-aged children will be accessing our local school. Outside of nursery and school times, parents are the sole carers of their children, and will be supported by the wider team to develop parenting skills and strengthen their relationships.
The site has free on-site parking, dedicated staff room spaces, and is located 5 minutes away from local buses, and Saltcoats train station.
